No worries mate - I don't like my "design" either. It was never designed- it's just grown.

I wouldn't argue with gooner since he is an affiliate extraordinaire.

I'm on ten years now as a successful affiliate. I'm certainly not the biggest. Nor will I ever be. But I'm happy where I am.

To me the key is to include your own personality and love! Otherwise you are just another site.

Wasn`t arguing . I respect the hell out of seasoned affiliates. Point was he has an unique design.

Sheesh, I read Gooners site a lot when I am wanting to know whats going on with some of the sports markets that I don't exactly follow but wanna see what happened or is happening lol.

I hope you aren't trying to say he's getting old??

Geez, if one of my sites would just age as well as his site....let alone get anywhere near the brand recognition his does.

Each to their own I guess Dan - but for me Bet365 is a label that works well and "does what it says on the tin". It is a brand. I think it's spawned a number of copycats ( bet24 - bet188 ) who have tried the name/number route without getting anywhere near it. What would your example of a premier betting brand be?

Bet365 and Bet24 are equally good/bad names, don't you agree?

Ladbrokes would be my favorite brand when it comes to the name, the logo, the meaning, and the brandability of products. After that I'd go with Unibet, as there is no other bookie that uses the word "bet" as seamlessly as Unibet does. My third favorite would be William Hill.

About designs which aren't visually attractive:

The shape and color of things are totally irrelevant. What makes a design good is its usability, logic and navigation. Look beyond the graphics and the colors and you'll start noticing websites that fulfill this purpose and those that do not.

A website is nothing if it doesn't have traffic, if it doesn't have returning visitors, if it doesn't convert, and if it doesn't have a good business plan behind it.

I could probably name at least 100-200 more things which are important for a website before I start talking about the eye candy stuff.
