It depends on the region. For example, in Tier 1 markets, acquiring crypto players is more difficult and usually more expensive than acquiring fiat depositors.

The use of cryptocurrencies has become quite widespread in Latin America (which is where I'm from), and people use them regularly or have at least heard of them. I wouldn't worry that someone who wants to play online would desist if they had to use crypto.

I have seen an increase since Trump took over and the witch hunt stopped. it's become way more mainstream than it was 2 years ago and I would expect it to increase.

And where is this info coming from? Any sources?

Average deposit with fiat in traditional online casinos (Tier-1 market) is usually somewhere between 50-150$ - and with crypto, average deposit with f.ex Tether (USDT) is $1.27k for the past 12 months (on-chain data, see image). So it's a huuuge difference and I do not believe that aquiring crypto players is more expensive than fiat players.

Way more users understand crypto deposits now compared to even 2–3 years ago, especially younger players and people already familiar with exchanges or fintech apps. Stablecoins also made onboarding much easier because players don’t have to worry as much about volatility. That said, there’s still a huge percentage of casual users who get confused by networks, wallet addresses, fees, and confirmations, so simple UX and good deposit guides still make a massive difference for conversion. The smoother the process feels, the better retention usually is.

@eenzoo and @Coinchaser already nailed it with data, the Tier-1 acquiring claim doesn't hold up.

IMHO worth adding — the line between "crypto casinos" and "traditional operators with crypto" is collapsing faster than the discussion suggests. The big payment platforms now ship with crypto rails baked in alongside fiat (Praxis, Pay.cc, MiFinity, etc.), so a mid-tier Curaçao operator gets USDT, TRX, BTC deposits out of the box without building anything.

Crypto-native brands still have brand advantage and rakeback economics, but operationally everyone's running similar plumbing now. Which means the "do players know how to deposit crypto" framing is increasingly the wrong question — the real one is whether the operator surfaced the rail in a way that doesn't scare casuals, because the rail itself is already standard.
