Crypto-only affiliate here, inherited a dying Drupal site

Hi all. I'm the editor behind CryptoCMD — we took over an aged Drupal gambling site that had maybe one backlink to its name, threw the whole thing out and rebuilt it as a crypto-focused review project: casinos, sportsbooks, a couple of exchanges, plus a news desk.

The thing that's genuinely surprised me in the first months: how often an operator's restricted-countries list and their tracking link disagree. Twice this month a link bounced players from a country the T&C said was fine. We ended up wiring geo checks into our toplists so visitors only see brands that will actually take their deposit — felt like overkill at the time, now I think every review site should do it.

Curious how others here handle geo mismatches — do you test your links per country, or just trust what the program tells you?

Welcome to the forum. Do not ever blindly trust anything a program tells you, always test and monitor your links.

Thanks — that matches my experience so far. The annoying part is that the mismatches aren't stable either: a link that worked from one country in June started bouncing in August after the program quietly moved streams around on their end. So it's not even "test once per country", it has to be re-tested now and then. For now I just re-check whenever a click looks off in the logs, but I'd love a less manual way to catch it.

Just wait when you figure out that even the links that work do not track at all.

It is a trap next to a trap. It has no solution and with restrictions from all sides like compliance, browser blocks, native ignorance... the truly amazing thing is that somehow it still works. Because it is a joke.

The knowledge taken is that there is an imiage of ideal reality and the reality itself. The affiliate reality is that nothing works as presented.

It is beyond their imagination to understand how much harm they do to their partners without actually gaining something when they leave us with brokwn links. Because they do not see immedaiate monetary outflow for that, they have little incentive to fix this.

I also find some programs change their links - like RoyalPartners. I have had to regularly ask for new links there because the old ones were .. well, old, I guess. I'm not a fan of that. I generally do not test every geo-link since it would take way too much time. I guess I should at least have some sort of semi-automated way to do this
