Default Daily Mail moving to an Affiliate Marketing model?

Looks as if the largest news website in the world is moving towards Affiliate marketing as an additional revenue stream...

As the print-based news industry struggles to remain profitable in a digital world, many sites have chose to use paywalls. Will this effort from the daily mail fare any better?

Be interesting to see how this pans out. I guess it'll certainly help their revenue but if I'm going to a newspaper's site, I'm really looking for news not where to buy something.

The Daily Mail however has a lot of viewers looking for celebrity gossip so it might work out better for them rather than say the Financial Times.

It will certainly be interesting to see how they tread the editorial line so people feel they are getting news but you're dead right, on areas like fashion and lifestyle sections it makes a lot of sense.

Be interesting to see if they extend the same to their sports coverage, could be some great opportunities for just the kind of betting coverage that usually gets the 'Moral Panic' treatment from the daily mail!

The fella that owns the Daily Sport was at LAC, I know him through something else, and they have been doing some affiliate marketing for a while, makes sense when they have a sport and especially horse racing section
