    Unhappy defamation of character

my question to you all is.... what do you do when someone you have
worked with on a forum that you trusted sends out an email to
about 10,000 members attacking your personal reputation as an affiliate and a person, which was purely an attempt to hurt me. am I suppose to sit there and suck it up and let it go or do something? and what would I do? I'm not the type of person that publiclly flames others, it's not my style

the way I do things is if I dont like you or agree with what you stand for I will just avoid you. I don't need to send out mailings to 10,000 members and tell them what I think about you as a person.
has anyone had this experience before? and what did you do about it.

Unless you want to have your business - personal and affiliate coming out in a court in your hometown, you really aren't going to "get even" or "compensated", etc. for what they said. If you do go to court, you have to prove it's not true, not just that they said something negative or even offensive.

If you own the list, and this other person doesn't own it or claim to, you need to reassert control over the conversation. Does this person have the mailing list or did they send this flame from your machine? If this person cannot recontact your list, consider sending out an email apologizing for this unfortunate action by a disgruntled , now "Ex employee". Say something like:

"While i know i'm not a perfect person, i hope you'll all believe me when i tell you not to believe everything you read in an angry email."

Now, if this person still can contact your list, then you have a more serious problem and need to either shut off access to this person, or retrieve/remove the list from their control.

good luck. If i can think of anything else, i'll post.

I don't think she said anywhere that the list was hers. I'm only guessing, but I doubt the problem was in the ownership of the list.

I apologize ahead of time if I'm wrong.

Actually I believe I know which forum you are speaking of and I am not too shocked to see such a post as I recieved the email from this board owner. I'd be surprised to see any regular member or member who has been a part of that forum for any amount of time to take this board owners emails as fact.

Wayne has a reputation of staff issues and has for years. This is a regular course of action he takes whenever he lets someone go or they have issues with the goings on at that forum. I really wouldn't take it too hard. Affiliate mgr's know of his reputation with respect to his inabiliaty to effectibly get along with others especially his staff and are accustomed to getting these types of emails from him so I am pretty confident they really don't pay a lot of attention to them and simply patronize him to shut him up for lack of a better term.

I think you simply need to ignore it and take it that you, like many others who have gotten involved with this guy made the sad mistake of doing just that. He doesn't have clout within the gaming world and members are used to him taking his site down when it suits him.

You are better off to go it alone and I am sure those who know you will not take a word of what he said as fact. I know I don't.

    Good luck with things.

p4k gaming seems to be online right now but I don't know if these are separate accounts or separate people as well.

If someone is willing to trash you and you know you're not in the wrong just take the high road and walk away. If you were well respected and liked than people will follow.

Default I think I need to reply

    First off,

I am only replying to this due to the manner my EX staff member has gone.

A quick answer to Bonus man - Your right, Our site has been going down alot due to reasons beyond our control and you can verify this information with our hosting company.

Secondly, I have had problems with staff prior to P4K Gaming when my site was hosted on the old ezboard forums. I am not justifying myself as to what i done wrong nearly 7 Years ago now, and there are the odd person that is still around in the gambling world that will continuely bring up the past because they have nothing better to do.

I notice since you joining here at GPWA Casino man this is the first time you have posted so it brings me to a conclusion how do I know. If you have previous issues with me i suggest you get in contact and disguss this issue.

If it is purley based on hear say with no physical proof then i suggest you seriously make sure you know what you are talking about.

Now to Address Livefree and why she was let go,

An E-mail had been sent out informing our members that Livefree was no longer in staff at P4K Gaming and I did say that she had made suggestions
to talk to people to try and damage P4K, I also have transcripts and proof of these comments, And more recently last night Livefree stating she had said that in anger. Yes i acted with an e-mail when she had said those things, But nothing in the E-mail could result to defamation as it is purley what came from Livefree herself.

We have had constant complaints regarding Livefree from other staff, members and yes we had been contacted by a casino in the manner she was representing P4K. I purely acted like anyone would and removed her from the site.

I will not return to bicker or justify anything from the past as that is where it belongs, The past. Our members have been receiving contest wins crediting promotions and anything we offer on our site,

So apart from the odd Ex Mod from the past or any recent staff that have done something wrong we have not had any problems.

The truth is, Livefree has had 3 chances at our site due to staff conflicts and we can not continue to let this happen.

Reputation and trust is everything in this industry from operators, to affiliates to players.

Rhonda you have a great reputation with Lion Slots, and you are very communicative with us. Like John from TIV said, if you know you are honest and have nothing to hide - your reputation will speak for itself and Operators, Affiliates and players who know you better will continue to respect you. Taking the high road, walking away from it, and focusing your energy on setting something else up would be more fruitful.

Heck I've had some pretty bad things said about me, but I know better than to get involved in something that isn't worth taking notice of.

    hi Livefree

My suggestion is to move on. bringing up such an issue in a public forum such as GPWA will not bring what was said in the emails back. Many people go from forum to forum , its just the way the industry is. my question is why did you return to p4ks in the first place? You left once and then came back? Is it because you work out your differences with the p4k staff? If so, perhaps you can work your magic again or try a different forum to conduct your business.

Damaging someones rep further to show how they hurt you doesn't make much sense. Mind you I did not receive the p4ks email so I'm not sure exactly what was said. Again, move on. If you have the skills which I believe you do you can make your own personal forum work.

Remember the sticks and stones rule from grade school because this whole thing seems childish .If a site owner felt the need to email 10000+ members on staff changes etc then they have that right.Probably had you not came to gpwa nobody who matters who know of the situation or care.Anyone who has the time to talk about others and fight IMO is not a serious business person and only hurting themselves in long haul.

    LOL.

I've never heard of the website or either of the protagonists EVER before. And both participants have less that 10 posts - probably all of them in this thread.

WTF is this doing on the GPWA?

or has the GPWA become the default board to post on when there is a bustup at another gaming site and a whine-fest breaks out?

While I tend to agree , This is however a webmaster issue as she felt it damaged her rep and asked for advice. GPWA is not subject to how many posts anyone member has. With that said I believe the thread has run its course and agree to "Get on with business people"

P4K gaming: The mistake was not posting here Imo. The mistake was sending out the email in the first place. Because you are a site owner this is your business, but however if you look back on the situation do you think it may have been a little better of an idea to just post a thread on the site to notify people of the staff changes instead of a mass email? But lets chalk it up to experience shall we.

I agree with you Chris, It should have only been a post placed up and will apologize to Rhonda for the e-mail that was sent. As she is aware it was done under anger as her comments were to and it is a mistake that will not happen again on my part.
