If you own the list, and this other person doesn't own it or claim to, you need to reassert control over the conversation. Does this person have the mailing list or did they send this flame from your machine? If this person cannot recontact your list, consider sending out an email apologizing for this unfortunate action by a disgruntled , now "Ex employee". Say something like:
"While i know i'm not a perfect person, i hope you'll all believe me when i tell you not to believe everything you read in an angry email."
Now, if this person still can contact your list, then you have a more serious problem and need to either shut off access to this person, or retrieve/remove the list from their control.
good luck. If i can think of anything else, i'll post.
