Default Despite threat of 'zombies,' online poker bill passes NY Senate

The bill sponsored by Sen. John Bonacic passed by a convincing 53-5 vote and would allow the state's 11 racetrack casinos to apply for 11 online poker licenses, good for 10 years and costing $10 million each.

Two things in that article do not gell with me :

1/ That racetrack casinos are a natural fit with online poker establishment.

2/ That these 11 casinos are going to make enough "rake" to cover the 10 million dollar license and set up costs.

It will be interesting to see the success / failure of these ventures.
