Did a Panda update just hit?

I am pretty sure that this is just part of the mobile algo.

I think you might be on to something here.. So i checked the mobile results page and one of my largest dropping keywords... Dropped from like 8 to number 70... And was surprised.. top 20 results out of 30 were all non mobile friendly, and completely junk spam sites.. some that just have the title of that keyword but no actual content related.. And this was for a high competition keywords which normally has high quality pages ranking for the first 50..

Some of my sites very recently jumped up a few pages for some of the keywords that I've been targeting. It could be an algo change that is still rolling out.

BOOM!!!! Something weird is happening, last 3 hours.. 30 visitors online consistently"per minute".. 10 more than usual of real time traffic.... almost a week in the pan, now things are off the rail??? anyone else seeing this?

keywords.. are all sports.. thousands of them, + the betting side of them.. where i was hit was the long tail which is most of my traffic.. I was 75% down until now.. its 30% higher than usual.. I have been sweating all week about this.. Now im sure it was a re index... I mentioned before that i think google has the trash index on show.. I cant confirm as it's only been a few hours.. but compared to the hurt I have had all week fingers are crossed that it sticks..

Yes, 70% USA.. I had a massive drop.. all week.. so not only return of traffic but a boost.. and its still early in the USA.. I got hit real hard for almost a week.. maybe its country related? anyhow.. its not even a full day yet so wont crack open champagne just yet.. but looks much better than it was.. usually friday to monday are my best days..

If it's coming from google - you should be able to do a real-time analytics to see the keywords with their real-time dashboard?
Granted that a lot doesn't get shown - but for me all the long-tails that are shown look like normal UK and European football related stuff tonight.

yes, 90% not provided.. but what I can see is a NHL and MLB game are drawing in traffic.. but they are not that big a games and normally basketball ranks even better,, perhaps because there is no basetabll? either way I was in panic mode this week watching thin spammy sites out class me, hopefully it continues.. Im sure google had a junk index on show.. I noticed there were some real worthless sites hanging on number 1 psotions for some good keywords.. some not even relevant..

I started to see a bigger difference from manual checks on mobile versus tablet and laptop, which have been a little different. I have a feeling that there will be new algos that "out trump" Panda and Penguin. Just my gut

I think good content with good marketing and going out of your way to make your sites mobile friendly should be solid SEO.

Im thinking its a big shuffle up.. this last week there has been some real trashy sites on top, I think our long tails are going to rank better.. judging by whats happening right now.. there are some real money keywords where non mobile friendly thin sites were taking the top spot.. i think its going to change... lets hope it lasts,..

So there was defiantly I tweak, sometimes I get carried away with building that the basics get left out, I have recovered all lost positions and higher.. For my site it was on page content related, over optimization once I had cleaned up.. full re submit.. back to where I was.. i still have a couple of keywords lagging but improving

Great article.. 68 out of the top 100 got hit.. And it was a shake up comparable to a large penalty, which OK.. I understand.. but when you see the sites that moved into those results afterwards you are left scratching your head, I went through a clean up and admittedly I got carried away with building and not paid much attention to some of the basics. however.. what was left ranking in lace of mine and other sites places were sites from 2012 with spammy keyword phrases and little info.. those who are my competitors know exactly what im talking about.. either way, i went on a massive clean up mission logically and have bounced back.. but even still.. Google should rank the best site supposedly.. not just some thin keyword targeting site from 2012.. right now.. I see $5 sites spammy as hell taking top spots for money keywords---
