You can only fold a piece of paper in half 7 times?

Just been told this and have tested this out! Surprisingly it seems to be true!

Can anybody prove this wrong?

Well i managed a post-it note the same number of times as an a4 piece of paper so maybe not!

The size of the piece of paper does not affect the number of times you can fold it in half.
