Did your organic traffic sessions increase or decrease in 2025 compared with 2024?

There has been lots of discussion about how the increase in the use of AI has generally decreased organic search traffic. So, today I decided to compare organic traffic for a few sites between 2024 and 2025.

For the GPWA, the number of sessions originated from organic search decreased 14.7% in 2025.

I also looked as a few affiliate sites of mine, and organic traffic decreased for every single one of them with an average decrease for the affiliate sites I checked of 21%.

However, the news for the sites I checked was good overall in that traffic from other sources increased. Overall, total sessions increased for the majority of sites I checked, including for the GPWA.

For this week's poll, I ask how the number of organic search sessions on your sites changed from 2024 to 2025. I was looking at this earlier today as it happens, our organic search traffic was up 7.4% year on year.

I got hit pretty hard in 2025 after recovering from the HCU of Sep 2023 in 2024. what's worse like many have noticed we were replaced with ai slop, partasite seo, repurposed domains and genral hacked sites. However I am optomisitc about 2026. I guess sooner or later google needs to clean up otherwise the ai overviews is goign to be pushing out low end garbage.
