But being dogmatic, saying your right and he/she is wrong ain't cool. Topics like this fall on opinion only.

Instead of derailing this thread, why not start a new thread about current Google PR value.
I'm sure you'd get people posting their opinions on it.

patmcluk asked the question: "Directories - Are they worthwhile". So sticking to that topic is best for this thread.

    Dear Dave ,

If you read carefully above you will understand that me and Universal in no case we didnt disagree or we didnt say that we are right and others are wrong.... We are saying what it is importand for Directory Submition mostly in google , and yes being submited in HIGH PR Directories in Google it is an importand factor.

As Universal stated above and i agree high PR doesnt mean Quality Traffic or Higher Position in the Search engine.

Would have been handy to know that from the start Mate - considering this being a gambling forum and all.

LOL Dave i'll take that one on the chin!

But i am asking in general. The site I submitted was the "Website Reviews" and as i said, it is an experiment, but surely the question of whether directories are good for link juice applies to any website?

Well as a follow-up, since i ordered the submissions (about two weeks) my backlinks on Yahoo Mysites has increased from 86 to 132. So Yahoo still counts directories as valid links, i wonder if Google does?

I will let you all know how much higher it goes in another couple of weeks, but I would say that the experiment has been good so far, and may try another site in a couple of weeks if my backlinks keep going up.

    Step 2 - 40 High Quality Links - Launder 2,000 Links through 20 Web 2.0 Properties

For this step you are going to need to create 20 different articles related to your main site. You are going to use each article to create one web 2.0 site. These are the domain where you can put the articles:

    weebly.com
    wetpaint.com
    squidoo.com
    livejournal.com
    vox.com
    zimbio.com
    gather.com
    hubpages.com
    tumblr.com
    xanga.com
    ning.com
    edublogs.com
    blog.com
    quizilla.com
    blogetery.com
    blogsome.com
    wordpress.com
    ehow.com
    wblogin.com
    blogspot.com
Remember to include two or three links back to your main s ite INSIDE the content of each article (if you do more, it can be flagged as spam, so avoid it). Then go ahead and create links to each of those web 2.0 properties where your article is. You have the list of 101 link list above, so you can use that to create 101 links to each of your 20 web 2.0 places.

This will give your main site 100 direct low quality links, 40 Direct High Quality links, and 2,000 indirect links which are laundered through the web 2.0 properties to pass on the link love to you!

    manuelinbmw,

I didn't see any link back to the orginal person who devised this linking strategy. I sure hope your not trying to pass this off as your own work!

This linking information was posted to CasinoMeister Webmaster Forums by NicolasJohnson Affiliate Manager of Regal Affiliates.

All in moderation, and posts should be meaningful, and not unadulterated spam. Additionally, it is important to vary (considerably) your source of IBL's.

When you submit your link to web directories it is easily indexed by search engines. The search engine crawlers crawl the Internet to obtain information on the recently updated or created links, and they start the crawling with the web directories and first crawl all those links present in the directory. Besides, whenever new search engines are launched, they automatically go through the Internet directories to quickly index the already-validated links. This saves you tons of time in submitting your links to various search engines.

I have used various services for directory submissions and find them of use as part of an SEO campaign.

I stress "as part of an SEO campaign" as this is just one of the items you need to do..

Don't pay your money and expect miracles!

Well said Andrew! If there was just one simple way to persuade Google to bump up a site, then everyone would be doing it and it would become meaningless!
