    It will take longer.

For sure Google is getting smarter day by day regarding links, but this doesn't mean that you have to ignore the disavowing process.

Especially in our niche, where the competition is high and there are many black hat guys and many cases of negative SEO attacks.

If you are good at selecting which are the bad links, try first to remove those links, if the owners of pages are reachable. If they are not, disavow.

Bad links are considered the "follow" links coming from:

    - Low-value web directories
    - Sitewide links (placed to hundreds of pages of the same site)
    - Pages with groups of links (hundreds of links with no text between the links)
    - Pages/domains not related to your niche
    - Pages or domains with low value (no inbound links)
    - Domains with a spammy link profile, low authority domains.

Have in mind that when you disavow a link, is like telling Google to put a "no-follow" tag to this link.

There will be a day where Google will throw the disavow tool in the recycle bin.

    Till then, disavow, but carefully.

It is better to have just 10 strong, clear, and follow links, than 3000 no-follow garbage links.
