I'm pretty much boycotting Netflix at this point. Most of the production is super lazy. Especially in the writing department.

The Japanese anime "Kaiji" is the most representative story of gambling.
The main character, a poor student, continues to win a gambling tournament held by a rich man with a sharp insight.

There are definitely a lot of things that can be watched on Netflix, but I mostly prefer to watch shows written based on real life stories or ones that present the crazy life of some famous character in real life.

"Maniac." I've actually watched it a couple of times. It's a great mix of drama, comedy, and sci-fi.

Benedict Cumberbatch generally has great performances. If you like his work, I recommend "The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar," also on Netflix. And if you enjoy poetry, he has some wonderful readings on YouTube.

Hi Satoshi. Welcome to the GPWA. I would love to learn more about Japanese culture, and I know anime is an important part of it, but I’m not much of a fan myself. Is there a movie or documentary you could recommend to me?

The Perfect Couple on Netflix featuring Nicole Kidman is pretty good, just a short 6-episode series but worth a look.
