Broken Link Checker?

I'm looking for a, preferably free, tool that will check our website top to bottom for broken links. Tried a couple things already that just didn't work or only worked for a small number of URLs. Does anyone have any suggestions for an automated tool that will check a website for broken links?

I have used Xenu for a number of years and found it to be the best one so far.
I think this is the correct link to them ( I have the older version on my computer but it is called the same so must be the same one )

Use Screaming Frog SEO Spider. I use the free version, works very good.

I saw this one in my searching but when I checked it I thought I saw that it had not been updated in 3 or 4 years and figured it was defunct. If it still works, will give it a shot

I like ScreamingFrog. Unfortunately it only parses 500 URLs in the freeware version which is inadequate for my needs.

Use Integrity when on Mac as Xenu isn't available there afaik. Doing a pretty good job, actually I like it better than Xenu tbh.

Seo Frog works great!
But Chrome got this plugin as well, showing broken links while surfin, so you can see other site's broken links. Great for seo!

If you are not stisfied by Xenu then there is no other free ware software which can check more then 500 to 1000 urls.

But if you still need some software then switch on Paid software like "Screaming Frog SEO Spider". It is best tools for it.

We finally got Xenu up and running. It works quite well for finding broken links. It also helped us find issues with images that were broken in an old server glitch that we never bothered to fully clean up... but Xenu made it so easy to pinpoint the problems we took care of them.

What we need now however, is a program that is good at finding all of our external links. I think Screaming Frog might do this when set up correctly, and on the paid version, but I'm not sure. OFC, a free solution would be nice as well.

Xenu + screeming frog will do the job. I am more fan of the second on (both paid and free version will do what you need)

I have used chrome plugins but they are just waste of time most of them slowed down my browser so they are are more like trouble for me then doing good i prefer something software kind of a thing.

screaming Frog SEO spider is the best tool for that, you can used it in free version by upload url list

For relatively small sites (sub 3,000 pages) I've used this before, seems to do the job: http://www.brokenlinkcheck.com/

Try Deep Crawl 14-days trial. The crawling takes some time but believe me it's worth it. After the crawling finished, you get the graph report with all 301, 404, broken links.

there's a free google extension that does this, I think it's called "link check" or something like that
