Does anyone pay for their SSL, or do you always go with a free one?

I’ve used Let’s Encrypt for free for a few years now with no issues.

I use vercel or cloudflare SSL depending on the deployment. I never spent on SSL

4free ... i dont see a reason to pay for. With a good hosting its included. Just imagine you want to pay for 100/200 live domains the ssl ...

Free for me.. Too many sites to purchase for each one and it's very simple to do with my hosting provider.

Comes as part of the hosting for me, so never had to pay separately. Is there any benefit in having it separately?

Just the free version here, either cloudflare or lets encrypt.

I am a developer and use laravel forge- they have a one click option that adds letsencrypt ssl for free

100% free.

Cloudflare Origin Certificates for the win. Honestly that is all you need.
If not on Cloudflare for some reason, Let's Encrypt works just fine.

Free with hosting, or with cloudflare.

It really depends on the hosting you build at. Let's say for example I am running a website on my own, bare metal, no hosting support.
In which case I have 2 options: Use a service such as Certbot, which will configure and install all the required certificates or I can use Cloudflare free plan and get an SSL certificate via proxy.
In case if I am using a hosting with support, then it's better to contact them, so that they set it up.
