Question Do you believe the world will end on 21 December 2012?

There are those who believe the Mayan calender ends on 21 December 2012, and that with the end of the Mayan calendar comes the end of the world. How about you? Do you believe the world will end this Friday?

Of course, the whole concept of precognition and prophesies and clairvoyance is a much broader topic. So, besides answering the poll question, please share your thoughts on whether it is possible to predict the future or the ability to sense more than what can be gleaned from our five senses.

No, I do not believe it. Personally I was going to have some shirts made and sell them for everyone that didn't believe it. However, I thought about what was going to be on the shirts and decided against it.

Now you HAVE to share what was on the shirts!

I don't believe it. People say the end of the world is every second day and they are always wrong.
I think some people have some kind of sixth sense but I don't believe they can tell the future exactly as it will be because every decision made by every person can change the future. I don't think the future is set in stone. My 2 cents anyway.

I agree with you. I don't understand why people always trying to come up with a reason the world is going to end. Its like everybody wants to die in some big event.

Brilliant. Although I can understand why you decided against the shirts.

Don't believe in the world will end Friday. The sun will rise 22 Dec.

But if anyone wants to donate their unneeded worldly possessions...

    LOL

I'm sure with all those music videos Steven made while everyone was in Barcelona he could pay for everyone's debt.

Yes. I believe it is true.

I have already taken a 2nd mortgage on my house and spent it. I maxed all my credit cards and spent that too. I'm having so much fun!

If the world doesn't end I'll just send the bills to the Mayans.

I didn't catch this at first.

While that is profound and deep, I do believe that the prophocies were based on aliens rather than a sixth sense. Or perhaps the stars. Correct me if I am wrong.

Nope, no end of the world coming. I just wonder what the next "End of the World" prophecy will be about?

I'm quietly confident that the world will still be here on Saturday. As for a sixth sense - I know people I consider very sensible to claim they've experienced an incident where someone demonstrated clear knowledge of the future, but as for me, I'm cynical.

The calendar will end for many people, as it does every day, through sickness, accidents, old age, etc, but the world as a whole will carry on

The serious talk from people that have researched this is that it's all about an energy shift - energy, frequency and (forgot)

Anyway the earth has a 46000 year cycle - you can read a little about it here: http://kids.britannica.com/comptons/...onomical-cycle

Then there is the Sun's cycle around the galaxy which is 220 million years and we are about in the same place we were when the dinosaurs got wiped out plus/minus a few million years or so

The Mayan calendar is a 5200 year calendar (although interesting it ends in the middle of a month...) which is based on the center of our galaxy - what they called Hunab-ku (cool name) so we can assume that somehow (aliens?!) they understood these cycles and built them into the calendar. 46000 / 5200 is about roughly 9 and the one theory is that we are at the end of the "winter" period of the cycle and moving into the "spring" period when according to the part of galaxy we are now moving through energy, frequency and (i forgot) will all increase.

It's a cool calendar of 13 twenty day months - 260 day years that is more in tune with nature than the Gregorian calendar which is a joke.
And it looks like this - a vortex...

So, yeah i think it's more about the end and beginning of new cycle rather than the end of the world

    Good times ahead... hopefully!

I like the 26 day months, that would mean we got paid more (or missed payments would occur more frequent).

I just figured the dude making the calendar got tired and said "5200 years, yeah that oughta get it for now, let someone else do the rest, I'm off for a drink at the pool"!

Carrying on from Lloyd's explanation, apparently they did not count leap years either. So if the world was going to end, it would have been about 7 years ago.

The only meaning this day has is that I'm having hong ha for lunch.
