Time taken for Free Bets to be awarded

Hi All,

Just got a sportsbook related question for the sports betting affiliates.

We are currently looking at rolling out a new free bet offer for our affiliates very soon and we are looking at the time between when the free bet is triggered, and when the bonus is awarded to the Member.

Many sportsbook free bets are awarded same day, or within a few days after the Member is eligible to receive it.

However, I just wanted to know if there would be any advantage to having a faster turnaround time for the free bet to become available, i.e. immediately after market settlement, after 10mins, or an hour.

It would be appreciated if you can share your experiences here on how long it typically takes.

Would appreciate any feedback from either affiliates or from betting enthusiasts!

Well clarification of how the free bet is awarded is helpful.

Is the bet offered in conjunction with placing your first bet, or is the bet offered with a losing bet, or is the free bet offered once you have placed bets totaling a certain amount?

I think the different kinds of free bets will help dictate logical time frames.

Hi Rick thanks for the reply. The free bet is awarded when the Member has won or lost bets totaling a certain amount at market settlement, it is not based on first bet or on losing bets.

Ideally it should be automatic as soon as the player has qualified.

I sorta agree, certainly within 24 hours would likely be acceptable to most punters. (immediate would be ideal)

Have you also surveyed players?

I would be interested in whether they would generally give the same kind of numbers or if a higher percentage of players would choose the immediate.

I don't think that the exact time is important if :
- it's within a 24 hour period
- you've clearly communicated how long it will take
- it happens correctly without the player having to prompt for it or chase it up.

Do it right and it will be a bonus for the customer and create good will ...

If you had a trader, this could be achieved very quickly, and if they are keen, they probably wouldn't wanna be waiting around, so quicker the better imo

The time you spend to win some prizes is unlimited but when it comes to them to give your prize it lasts a little bit it's always like so.
