As it says before , If you are not there ( Social media ) you are not exist ...
The main idea is to " promote " your website in these tools , and it is tools for many aspects .
You need to make a buzz and let all your friend about your website and they will tell their friends and so on .
You can reach thousands of people easily without paying a penny .

Yes, social media can help your rank through google. It self manages to reach page 1 when your casino name (company name) is typed in. Usually lands anywhere in top 5 for facebook in couple of months of creating an account. Not just sure with other social networking sites though.

Surely it helps. It might not be highly valued directly in google algorithms yet, but i guess it increases "real" people interest
