Do you write your future or has it already been written?

Yes, I do believe that fate exists for everyone and everything. Maybe, everything is actually written in the stars from long ago and that we don't really have any control over it. Who knows though.
"Lord grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference." Saint Francis of Assisi
Do you feel controlled, directed, fate? I don't.
It "feels" like free will every day - so it probably is.

I'm not sure "fate" or one's destiny, could be stated as controlled. Because if it does exist, everyone still has "free will".
I believe you used to be in the banking sector? That's a BIG change from what your doing now. Back when you commenced Gooners Guide (1999?) affiliate marketing for that vertical, as well as casinos etc., really was in its infancy (ground floor opportunity).
IMO you portray a person who is an analytical thinker. Where topics (opinions/views) are very much structured/contained within black & white.
Let me ask you this question:
Did you wake up one day and just decide to change career paths. Or was it more, right place, right time?
From my vast experiences in life, things tend to happen for a reason. Those events may not be clear when they happen, but at some point down the track, the pieces mesh. Not unlike a jigsaw puzzle.
It's only then that events which seem like "free will", are, and can be, part of the BIG picture of one's life.
Why do some people seem to get the 'breaks' in life, while others don't. Is that fate, or "free will"?
I believe that I write my destiny and from our attitudes either for good or for bad someday it comes back to you

If our lives are predestined then what is the point of trying to better oneself or even of living? Is a person sitting in prison destined to be there? No, the poor choices they made in life increased the probability that they would end up there.
There is no magical outside interference that puts you on a certain path in life. The environment you grew up, and currently live in, like family, education and many other factors mold a person so that they follow a certain path in life.
A person who wins millions on the lottery was not destined to win that lottery. They just happened to purchase a ticket, enticed by the lure of a fortune, and the rest was just pure mathematical probability.
Not sure about fate but believe what goes around comes around ..... maybe just not as fast as one would like.

I also believe in Karma. I believe that what goes around comes around, eventually. That's why it's really important to be kind to one another.

I believe people write their own future. "Things happen for a reason" perhaps just a synonime for I took the right/wrong decision, I was able to make the best out of a certain situation, it was the outcome of a process, etc.
In the end, there's always God, but I don't think He bothers about the lottery results or my notes at school.
I do not believe in fate, but for sure I do believe in karma. You get what you give and that is it.
Have you seen Terminator 2? There is no fate.
95% of the stuff is the result of your own behavior. The rest can be attributed to chance, luck etc. But also there are some people that are not prepared to grab their chance when it presents itself. I also believe in Karma. It's much more likely that luck will come to someone who actively seeks it.
There is nothing like "your own behavior". It is the illusion of What we call "Me". There also is not a chance, luck etc. Because there is constant luck, chance etc. always overweighted with certain price to be paid. But we are not grabbing it, because we do not want to pay the price. And most of us likes to believe in totally antagonistic analogies where we are absolute individuals and we also are living for "5%" chances that have possibility to change our lives.
Simply put, once anyone hits the flow, he can reach where the flow goes. But nobody is even 0.0001% independent. Anyone ignoring reality and what the reality offers is burned fast. The people on the top, the most successful ones, are the ones who respect the reality, not the ones who deny it.
The question if there is a fate or we are responsible for ourselves makes no sense. It is a false dilemma that exists just for the reason that we want to persuade ourselves that we have to pick between those two or make a compromise. In fact you write your already written future. If you think you do not/or when you insist on your own originality, you do it anyways, but that future is really bad, because you do not get the flow. You are wasting your energy just to define yourself and not to be lost in the world. That is not an adult behavior, this is a behavior of teens who seek the independence.

If you talk to God, you are praying; If God talks to you, you have schizophrenia.
Hi all,
Fate is an interesting thing, there is no right answer about the existence of Fate. I think that you write your own Fate.
The future has not been written. Every moment, every day, every result is based on your own decision, on your own thought.
So, I wish you to make only the right decisions )
No.

If God has no plans for you then your life is like a casino, where luck has a significant role.
