Default DOS Attacks appear to be widening

For the last few months several sportsbooks and casinos have been subjected to DOS attacks launched by persons/groups allegedly trying to blackmail them.

DOS attack methods vary considerably, but the objective is to clog a network's bandwidth with large amounts of incoming traffic, such that no outgoing traffic is processed, and then demand a fee to stop the attack. The net result of the attack is that, on occasions, players and affiliates are unable to connect to the various sites or casinos.

For whatever reason, it seems that many of the sites we do business with have been hit in the last couple of weeks, resulting in the sites going down for a few days, or going up and down intermittently.

PLEASE BE PATIENT! There is no reason for alarm when a site goes down for a few hours, or even a day or two. If it's longer than that, someone here has usually been contacted and will share the info with us.

Subject: DDoS attack on Casino Partners Group

Dear Cynthia - As you might know, our industry has recently been targeted by several DDoS attacks. Last week' attack was massive and by far the most agressive. As a direct consequence, many online casinos were and still are unreachable. Our group of casinos wasn't spared by those attackers and our technical team has worked since the early hours of the attack in order to find a suitable path for the traffic sent to us.

Between Thursday morning and Friday 3pm (est) our sites have been unreachable from certain parts of the internet but now everything is back to normal.

Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have additional questions.

    Thanks,

    Laurent
