    Default DraftKings in financial trouble?

I had originally posting this question in the rotogrinders forum which was deleted in minutes which make me even more suspicious so I have come here to GPWA.

I was wondering if anyone here has any insight or experiences with DraftKings. I am a small time DraftKings affiliate and have been for years and everything was great until about a year ago when payments started to become infrequent. I have talked to the affiliate manager there and he says its a "vendor issue" but I have spoken to a couple of big affiliates and they have the same issue of not being paid for several months.

I bring this up because when Fantasy Aces went down affiliates like Rotogrinders were owed a bunch of money and this seemed like a warning sign that was ignored.
Should we be worried that DraftKings is in trouble too based on the fact that affiliates aren't getting paid? Are there any other DraftKings affiliates that aren't getting paid on here? Does anyone else think that DraftKings is in financial trouble?

They owe me a significant amount of commissions. Emails get the generic 'we should have the problem resolved soon'.

I know a few other aff's haven't been paid either.

It's probably liquidity issues. Probably trying to hold on until football when the yearly surge is. It's bullshit.

    Wow, so true.
I got last payment to Paypal on 7th Feb, with a note "Aug-Nov16 Affiliate".

But by Nov they merged with Fanduel, and Fanduel is paying.

Thank you for your work as an affiliate to date. DraftKings has evolved immensely since we began in 2012, and as such, we are continually evaluating our programs and offerings to help the industry grow as a whole. Accordingly, we are re-evaluating our affiliate program as we enter a new era in sports gaming.

Your license as an Affiliate to use our trademarks, logos, and other intellectual property is revoked as of April 30th, 2020. Please cease all promotions and ensure all DraftKings intellectual property is removed by that time period.

Removing affiliates that can potentially generate tens of thousand of visitors to buy their product makes perfect sense and should help them reach their goals of helping them and the industry grow as a whole.

    /end sarcasm

I have said for many years, having affiliates in the data bases that link to the sites and promote the products, whether they produce or not does not cost, but the LACK of affiliates, or affiliates promoting competitors does.

Draftkings, Fanduel and William Hill. That is pretty much what you have to work with if you want to be an affiliate with US sportsbooks.

A reason why I am still working with offshore books.

Today, we are thrilled to announce that DraftKings is officially listed on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol, “DKNG.” This marks the start of a new era for us. One that includes full control of our backend technology and trading platform with our acquisition of SBTech. This allows us to offer you even more innovative ways to engage with your favorite American sports, more resources allocated to innovation, new products and enhancing every touchpoint with our most important stakeholder; you, our valued customer.

It was 8 years ago this week that we launched DraftKings, after countless nights and weekends of working out of Paul’s spare bedroom in Watertown, Massachusetts. We built DraftKings for the millions of “skin-in-the-game” American sports fans just like us. We are proud to say that since day one, we have never stopped working with our exceptional teams, partners, investors and customers to bring our vision to life: To build the best, most-trusted and highest-quality sports and gaming products for sports fans everywhere. Our version of the American Dream.

We want to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU for your belief in us, our company and what we have created together. We recognize that through every turn you have been right alongside us, cheering us on and giving smart and passionate feedback. You have always held us to the highest of standards and without your engagement, we know DraftKings would not be the product it is today. We owe everything to your loyalty, enthusiasm and the trust you have placed in us, and we will never take this for granted.

You know better than anyone that our road to get here has not been easy. We pitched over 40 investors for startup funds before we heard a “yes.” It took the daily fantasy sports industry years before we signed the first-ever DFS league partnership in 2013 with Major League Baseball. Together with you, we collaborated with lawmakers, regulators and others across the country and internationally to advocate for what we knew sports fans wanted, and successfully helped enact new legislation to protect all consumers while responsibly allowing you to play the games you love.

As we celebrate, we also recognize that many of you are going through financial, health, social and emotional hardships that have changed our lives forever. And none of us know when or how this is going to end. What we do know, however, is that giving back has always been a passion point of our community. Whether it’s through Tech For Heroes, our initiative to provide continuing education and mentorship to veterans, breast cancer research or natural disaster aid, we have worked together with you to donate to many different causes. A few weeks ago, we started by donating $500,000 to the United Way’s local community response efforts for COVID-19, and with your help, we hope to reach $1 million. We’re adding $1 for every person who shares a photo wearing a rally cap on social media using the hashtag #DKRally and hope you will join us in supporting this effort.

As a special thank you to our customers we are also offering you a free $100K DFS contest to Fantasy Madden Football. We will be running the contest on April 27th which marks our 8th anniversary. Click here to enter.

We are excited for the innovation, new products and expanded reach that going public will afford us. It is an honor to continue on this adventure with you, and we very much look forward to what the future will bring.

Thank you all again for making today possible.

    Stay safe

    Jason, Paul, and Matt
It is so funny they have sent me those 2 emails in 2 days. I can not stop laughing really.

Everytime I will read how Corona destroyed our great economy and great system I will laugh even more.

I really believe that the hypocrisy reached some hypercritical level and way over it and the world is simply not sustainable anymore in the regime "let's steal billions and let's give thousands against cancer/covid/brats in Africa and make a campaign based on it".

Some of these programs would have you believe it costs them an actual fee, to keep each affiliate in their system. But as you've said, it doesn't. I always have a chuckle; then some fun with any AM who sends me this type of garbage statement.

The ones who do IPO scams do not care about anything.

I took time to respond to the AM, I hope he will be fine.

Dear Trey, thank you very much for your email.

I see your linkedin profile, it seems you are a young guy with your dream. Great for you, I hope you will do fine in your life. For sure the dream will not fructify at a company like Drafkings, which now has shown behavior like the worst world scams. Meanwhile I am writing about this breach of contract to SeekingAlpha and elsewhere. But that is not my point.

My point is that you personally will be forever tied to scammers. Now it does not seem to be important, but believe me, in future, when digital identity and reputation will be the real credit score and much more, it can make a radical difference to your life.

I wish you a great covid year and all years after (I am sure the great US health system will protect you and your family).

    Stay safe and stop stealing!

    Hugs.

Well it seems that DraftKings is far away from financial trouble now that they are listed on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange. I'm still an active fantasy sports player there and made good experience with DraftKings. Let's wait and see how their share price is developing.

The funny thing is after they stole the players and I told them to fo, they asked me for bank account and sent me 33K that I was not aware I have with them.

At least they are classy with stealing.

Wow, I have no experience with them, but after reading this, I think I’ll steer clear—or at least not expect to be paid on time.
