hi usacasino, welcome to the poker world
The rooms I play at mostly are
Absolute Poker
Poker Stars
Ultimate Bet
Doyles Room

All of these rooms and many others are easy to sign up with and play for play money or freerolls to get the hang of it. I have a freeroll site you will see in my sig link that lists most of the freerolls available, what time they start etc.

Best of luck and any questions don't hesitate, there's several seasoned poker players here at GPWA!

Edited to say I forgot to mention the best bonuses...there's some excellent ones out there, free $10 no deposit at Crazy Poker, 500% up to $10k free at Intertops Poker, 100% bonus up to $500 free at Absolute, and many others.

VC Poker and Betway both have awesome bonuses.
Carbon and Doyles are great for American players and they both have good freerolls and solid bonuses as well.
Full Tilt and PokerStars have tons of freerolls but their bonuses aren't great.

Here's a review page of six of the best ... four of which take US based players.

My top three would have to be PDC Poker, Doyles Room and FullTilt Poker. Being from the U.S., it's the three rooms I play more than any others.

Feel free to take a look at: http://www.bestcasinos4u.com/poker-sites.html

All of the casinos and poker rooms I promote accept US players.

Poker Rewards was the most popular last month.

Best of luck!!!

Depend where you want to play and the type of player you wish to play against.. My fav at the moment are Piggs Peak Poker, Silversands poker and Chilipoker.

Piggs and silver sands are South African poker sites!
personaly i think it comes down to player preference!

Happy hunting!

There was a time when signing up to just 1 or 2 poker rooms would cover you for playing freeroll tournaments, when ever you wanted a game but these days, The scheduals and prizes change all time but if you want to see current upcoming freerolls other than the specials freerolls that are not so easy to find then here is a live feed.
