I would like to disagree. A live chat plug in increases your page quality (EAT) and adds additional value to your website. A website with a live chat option looks more professional and trustworthy - at least imho. And if I understood the search quality rating guidelines by google correctly, it matters.

Beside that it also might increase the time users spend on your page (although this shouldnt have a direct impact on seo).
Last but not least you can direct traffic via live chat to certain casinos or bookies and receive feedback about your site to improve content.

i would also disagree based on the fact that even if the livechat is in a frame or uses a 3rd party js plugin, it is still indexable as google is now essentially a headless webkit browser... so all that stuff will get indexed

@Ninja16 - the chat online will definitely not help your SEO at all, but there are some good issues :

- the chat agents could be of great help to clients who are hesitating what next to fo and follow on your site.

- good chat support can outrank your competitiors not in Seo matter, but the nws and rumous, people will mention about you all around the forums.
- also bear in mind the bookies with maginificent support are developing and performing good in long term.

Embedded Live chat ROOM [full of user chat => UGC + relevant long-tail keywords / phases] can't be a loser tho. <- Note to self - test this out soon!

Problem with using any chat that is indexed, spam from ANYONE that visits, using keywords and links you may not want indexed.

I don't think live chat increases time spent on website. Most people ignore it, and the ones who do try to talk to you won't make the stats much better.

True story Rick, but you can overcome this somewhat by disabling people from sharing links, only letting registered + logged in users with good rep post etc, but totally a valid point.

I agree regarding the disabling people from link sharing, but I would maybe like to get an info before I register.
Also I do believe that having a Live Chat function on the site can't be bad. I'm a newbie here, and would really like to hear other opinions, so I can learn as much as I can.
