I think my best decisions this year have been about getting out in my community more. It is a little isolating to work from home, but I now have regular activities that I do each week on Wednesday and Friday evenings. I've met a lot of great people and its been rewarding and fun.

I came across a kind of funny piece of information on this topic. Rasmussen is one of the major polling companies here in the United States, and they hold a weekly challenge for people to guess results of a survey question. This week's challenge was “What percent said 2012 was the best ever?"

The average response was 19.08%
I guessed lower, 8%.
The actual answer was 3%.

Haha. I was less optimistic than most other people, but my guess was more than double the actual rate. Still, that is a lot of people who had a great year.

I would take a guess and say that the reason the average response was so high was because most of the people who answered the question thought 2012 was the best ever.

Best thing this year for me was stopping smoking. Not had a cig since 29th Feb and although, to be honest, I feel no different, long term I know I'll reap the benefits.

Nice to see all my kids a year older and doing well, enjoying life too!
