Expired domains are easy enough to find (the link above is one good place) but getting those with existing traffic is the tricky part.
Unfortunatly, anyone with this knowledge will keep it to themselves - some things are simply too valuable to give away

Here is a good program to get and try out, but note, there are no names dropping now and wont be until March except for an odd .org or 2.

Finding expired domain names versus finding traffic
There are thousands of expired domain names - usually hundreds daily.
You can check to see if they've got existing links at the search engines but where does one find out if they've actually got traffic?
To find expired domains names - I actually spent $149 of my hard earned money to buy this program

With this one you can ask it to find domain names deleted PLUS automatically check to see if it's listed at Yahoo (and assorted others).
You have to verify the results before you buy the domain name because sometimes it'll say for example that the domain has 500 links at altavista when it may have only 5.
It's got many other features as well.
It sure beats manally checking all those interesting expired names.

Sheepster is an interesting domain name forum with a list of expiring names with link pop. If you use my ref id to sign up, I get an extra 5 minutes. You'll see what this means if you look at the bonus section.

btw. the skill is in getting the name before it gets to redemption grace period, not after it drops and all the competition is there. You can actually transfer expired names.
