Facebook Engagment

We're redoing our Facebook page and was wondering how you use the social media site:

- How do you engage your readers?
- What kind of posts do you find get the most likes/hits/posts/shares/etc.?
- How do you divide up your posts - articles/announcements/etc.?

Anyone - engaging your users? No takers?

Obviously on the operator side here, but telling users to LIKE / SHARE / COMMENT drives engagement... if you do it right. I think you have to work out the voice that you want to portray on your page and keep it consistent - people like consistency both in content and in post timing.

When I post something my likers want to read or know about, it engages them.
I suppose if you have a page about Blackjack Tips, posting a blackjack tip would engage them.

If you have a page about running, a tip about running or stretching or something like that would engage them.

Usually when posting to my page I separate the posts by what it relates to. If I'm only posting something with text, I often post a photo with it as it grabs their attention in their newsfeed better.

Anyone - engaging your users? No takers?

Its a tricky matter m8, what works for me and my face page can be nothing to your users or page. I work a lt with branding my name/site, i dont really do a page about blackjack bonus, video poker bonus and such, my site i name xpto, i do a xpto page and what i want is the broad user of my site, and the page is nothing more than a means to keep them returning, so if i have a page about bonus, then, i post bonus related ****, like if my site is about betting i post about bets, but my end goals is always get the user to the site, or page inside the site that has the call to action that will turn the fan into a RMP...

Like Renee said an image can be a great help in the feeds i actually forget a lot about his, or do it in a manner that is not 100%, like using some bs image i always do, or always my site slogan....

All in all i think its hard to get a 100% full proof way of doing ads on face, i did a Master Class on this with fellow webmasters in my country and i was the same lame ass advertiser on face i was before, they had a drive focused a lot on humor, at first some of the things they used served me well, but now i see this is only because i was only on a very basic level yet, after doing some more research i now see that trial and error and lots of €€ are key to get any place...

Thanks, Renee! This is helpful and posting tips is definitely a great idea. Do you pose questions as well and ask for responses? (and is it successful?)

Photos are always an attention-grabber and good to keep in mind.

Yep I find it's quite successful.

A couple of months ago I did an experiment and asked for people to help me but didn't tell anyone what it was.
I got a few people to help and I sent them all something and asked them to use it for a month and give me before and after photos, then at the end posted the results. The initial question asking people for help got my followers tagging their friends in my post and then the posting of the results got me at least 100 new followers and people subscribing to my newsletter.

You just have to know what they want. Not sure how it could be applied to our industry but I'm sure there is a way.
