Another good one in Spanish is "pollo" and "polla". Pollo means chicken of course. Polla is something you might find in your underpants if you happen to have a Y chromosome. You wouldn't believe the amount of tourists who truck into KFC in Madrid and ask for a large polla sandwich with extra mayo

    LOL thats hilarious!

mojo - you can still use the word root in that way, but if there are dirty people around you they will just laugh at you..

The funniest was when I had a canadian stalker who came over and bought me a hat and shirt from 'Roots'...
I guess that was the only funny part about him

We also use shag, bumping uglies, horizontal waltz etc..
When Ryan was with us, I would use words that he had never heard before... By the time he left I had him speaking Aussie, and even saying some of the words with an Aussie accent...

A friend of mine is marrying a Canadian girl and when she first came out here, he got home from work and she asked him how his day was. He told her 'Yeah pretty good. I had the biggest bludge after lunch' - she thought he meant he had a boner as most people call it. He couldn't help but laugh.
Bludge means you slacked off so to speak. ie you did nothing. A bludger is someone who does nothing, is lazy, doesn't work etc. We also have government help for people who dont have a job. We call it the dole here. So someone who is on government help and has no job and doesn't care to get a job, we call them a dole bludger.

Yep, I told my brother in law to order a McPenis and Fries and McDonalds!

So many foreigners make the mistake - it's hilarious!

I once got the wife to go to the bar.

I know amazing.... but there is more!

I asked her for a pint of staropramen, she said a what? So I told her...

Ask for a pint of Strap on man, cheers luv!

Back she came with the correct beer and very embarassed!

Sounds a bit crap reading that back but it was funny at the time, guess you had to be there!

Renee..... you are correct! you are special .... in any terms!.

BTW, in the USA you shouldn't use your middle finger to point at people, things, places. That is probably true in other places as well.
so true. one time leaving a very crowded ....something ....... can't remember now.... my dad used his middle finger to try and point out a parking space to a new arrival because his first finger was injured.

yep..... got the middle finger back. ..... didn't understand it at time .... but now realize he was asking for it while trying to do someone right lol.
Almost Here! How would you like to be able to get not just one sign up from your player, or even a couple, but every single casino they join from here on? I've a plan that can make that happen and it will likely also tell you every time the player is active within the casino.

Hahha the middle finger is a bad gesture here too.

    Actually another faux pas...

Here, when people stop for you so you can cross the road, you hold your hand up to say thanks... kinda of like a wave...

In Greece, that is like sticking your finger up at someone.. so when people stopped to let me cross I put my hand up to say thanks... I learnt very quickly not to do that anymore...

    Root comes to mind...

I believe in the USA it means to barrack for a team.

Where as is Australia it's a slang term for fornication, bonking, doing the horizontal folk dance...you get the picture

    Cheers

I let this ride first time around.. ....... couldn't second.

    what a lucky stalker!

I usually just stalk unsuspecting victims which are far from at pretty

*that said ....... love my GF ..... and her kids. so i guess I'm one of those ..... victimless stalkers. *wouldn't trade what i got for nothing .....

** not taking away from how pretty Renee is ......

Well let's just say he probably didn't appreciate me ripping my hand brake up at the airport and chucking him out of my car to wait 12 hours for the next plane out of the country.

I guess his faux pas was that he should have known us Aussie women don't take sh*t from anyone.

    Anyway that's another thread.
    Carry on!

Someone else post some faux pas!

Digging up an 11+ year old thread... That's got to be a record for you, if not an all-time record (including everyone else).

I'm not going to stoop that low and grace you with a reply, mostly because I can't as my back is shot and my knees are gone.
