Fighter Isaac Johnson dies from injuries sustained in the ring

First, condolences and prayers to the family and loved ones of Isaac Johnson.

On Nov 21 during a fight between Isaac Johnson, and Mario Aleksandrovski in illinois at the Matador Fighter Challenge 11 event, it seems Johnson, only 31, collapsed and was rushed to hospital where he later passed away.

Over the years there are scattered stories of fighters suffering life changing injuries during fights, but it is actually rare when a fight will cost them their lives.

I do like to watch the fights occasionally but am not a huge fan like some of the folks here so maybe some of you might know more about what happened etc. I have seen a little bit of speculation here and there but there does not appear to be a lot of official information out there yet.

It’s one of the few sports I can’t bring myself to watch for this very reason. I know every activity carries its risks, but with fighting sports you can see how the damage builds up over time and affects a person’s quality of life, and sometimes, as in this case, it can end that life. May he rest in peace, and may his family find some solace as they go through such a painful time.
