Airlines - Online Gambling?

With airlines looking at more ways to generate revenue I am curious why they have not entered into and provide further inflight entertainment such as online gambling. I am aware of some airlines that have tested various forms of online gambling but it has not really taken off, pardon the pun!

With so many people sitting idle on flights it could be an opportunity. I am sure there are many arguments for and against.

Such a move could be quite amusing, especially if the online gambling laws suddenly change every time the plane enters a new airspace Image you're involved in a high stake game of live poker and you know that you have an excellent chance of winning when the plane flies over a particular country and suddenly the following message appears on your screen; "It appears that you are located in XYZ and due to Gambling Regulations we do not accept gambling from your country." noooooooooo !!

I don't exactly know why, but people can certainly use some form of entertainment while they are on an aeroplane. Wouldn't it be nice if a big Super Ultra High Definition TV just suddenly came down from a ceiling compartment in the middle of the plane or have many of them come down in a plane for the different classes of the plane and play all sorts of television shows and movies? lol.

I think it would also be really nice and practical that if all of the passenger seats have Super Ultra High Definition Television Screens installed in the back of their headrests. Just like they have them installed for motor vehicles for the babies and young children to watch on long and adventurous journeys or even just for the long ride home!

I hope that this will become a reality very soon! Sooner than we think, hopefully.

As i know, this is exist on special planes for VIP-players. But this is not very easy question due to the legal reasons. As i think: 1.) Plane must have the same Jurisdiction, as they gambling license Jurisdiction. 2.) Plane must be on this Jurisdiction or on neutral waters.

A few years ago one of the budget airlines in Europe was putting banners on their online check in papers - so with your boarding ticket there is sometimes information printed under it and they had a banner with the details of the bonus plus a short URL the player could type in where it would be tracked to that campaign. We gave it a crack and to be honest, it was not worth the money paid for it.

@Pockerface I had also this idea some time ago while was staring at the useless content on screens. And later did some investigation in a legal field. This is what came up:

At first, when you're on plane you're actually present on a territory of jurisdiction of the company that owns plane. Laws and restrictions apply accordingly. So not many of airlines can be involved. At second, for many people who are not familiar to our niche, word "casino" sounds same frightful behind their brands as if you'd say Alcaida. An unenlightened imagination rapidly draws reputation losses and PR attacks of competitors.

And anyway, if I'd have some contacts in legally suitable company I try to get them involved. Who knows what's waiting for us around the corner.
