First Position but Zero Conversion...

I buy ads at Search Marketing Yahoo UK, promoted some of the affiliate links for the sportsbook and poker room; high bid with the first three position; the keywords were "betting world cup" and "play poker", but the conversion was quite disppointed--Zero of about 120 clicks!...Don't know how many clicks of this kind of keywords will return one real players?

Is it possible to see your website? Probably you have placed the links in a wrong position in the page, and people can't find them.
Have you thought about creating a landing page for this purpose only?

Hi Paolino, I promoted only the affiliates link, the visitors will direct went to their site: nine, intertops...all of them was Zero conversion.

i had a look at nine and intertops websites, they have a lot of content for general audience and also for world cup. Try to ask your affiliate managers for a WCup landing page, or build one by yourself, focused on football only. People who look for football aren't interested in other sports. This is my football fanatic opinion.

That is sound advice. Also, Rockcasino, something else you might want to think about is that if you have your own landing page on your own site, the visitor might not immediately click through to the merchant you intended, but browse through your site instead and visit some other casino or sports book you have on your site.

And if they really like your site they might bookmark it and come back later.

Whilst if you send them straight to the sport book and they don't like there offer, you have lost the visitor...

I am not saying sending them direct to a casino of sportbook doesn't work, but if it doesn't, I think you either have to direct the visitor to another page within the sportbook site, another sportbook or maybe your own site...

I would also ask if the ppc has affiliates.

If so, it could just be a little higher for fraud on those keywords during this time frame.

Thats indeed something else. Certain keywords have very high 'click through' ratios at some of these PPC engines. Certainly compared to the more trust worthy engines.

It is amazing that if you bid to be postion 60 for the term 'online casinos' at some of these engines still results in dozens of click throughs in a short space of time. Even more so when you compare that to the number of click throughs you would receive from a regular search engine listing in the same position... because then you hardly ever (if at all) receive a click through.

I have found overture uk ( Yahoo ) has not been very good recently. Indeed I threw a couple of grand at it a few months ago. I might have just chucked the cash off my balcony instead.

Why not set up a page that contains a sign up form to your newsletter. Capture the name and address, presell later via emails.

Landing page is very important in case of PPC advertising, as i think your landing page should be very clear and direct target to the purpose for the visitor, You can search more in google for designing tha landing page. I will aslo advice to check the webstats to monitor the traffic of your website and visited pages...

Let's say you were using a slots term. You could send the visitor direct to http://www.blackjackdomain.com/index.html or you could create a slots page and direct the visitor there instead. http://www.blackjackdomain.com/slotslanding.html

The logic states that if you are using a slots term, it would be a better experience for the visitor to arrive at a page that has some content related to the search term used.
