Default First Record/CD/Song You Ever Bought

What was the first record/CD/song you ever bought?

Some of us are old enough to have an answer that's vinyl or cassette; CDs for those a little younger perhaps, and for those even younger folks I guess it will be downloads.

Question is the same though, what's the first song you bought?

For me it was Technotronic, Pump up the Jam in 1989 as a 7 inch vinyl. Showing my age now of course!

I wasn’t cool enough for vinyl, so mine was a tape. Although for a minute my old man brain thought it could have been a CD (it definitely wasn’t).

I think it was the black album.

Nice question! It's a long time ago, around 1972, and I can't remember who it was by, but it was a 7 inch vinyl called 'Spiders and snakes'.

"I don't like Spiders and Snakes, but that ain't what it takes to love you, ooh ooh" LOL

5 years later I would have been at Sex Pistols and Clash gigs at places like The Roxy and The Nashville, with that first record a distant (and at the time, embarrassing) memory!

The first CD I bought was called "Woman," and it was a compilation of songs by female artists. I don't remember the exact year, but I believe it was around 2000.

    interesting one.

    it was tape, Nirvana Unplugged.

On the same topic, the only album I ever truly waited for it to be released was Oasis Be Here Now. it's the only time i remember myself actually waiting for that day that it will go out and rushing to the store.
