Hi all,
I first approached Michael Corfman 10 days or so ago about a private GPWA member who had done the following:
- Affiliate webmaster creates an organisation (to deal with affiliate and player issues).
- The same webmaster then creates a 'SEAL' which is designed to increase the integrity on a site bearing the aforementioned seal.
- This seal is added to 55 web sites owned by this affiliate webmaster.
- No other web sites caries the seal, just this affiliate webmaster.
- Neither the organisation (issuer of the 'Seal'), the web sites bearing the 'Seal', nor the 'SEAL' certificate(s), disclose the aforementioned sites; seals; or organisation are owned by the same person. That being the affiliate webmaster.
Over and above this, the affiliate webmaster is promoting known rogue casinos. Of which are also being promoted on some of the sites bearing the 'SEAL'.
Personally I have a really BIG problem with this. It's unethical, lacks integrity, but worse it's deceptive and dodgy.
Michael Corfman asked me how I would like this handled.
I chose to have this brought to the private GPWA forums.
My decision was based on the fact that it was a private GPWA member that had instigated this fiasco. So it was my view that their GPWA peers should discuss and voice their opinion on these events.
However although I am not at liberty to reveal what was said in the private GPWA forum where these issues were raised, I ethically and morally have no chosen but to now bring this to the public GPWA forums.
Why I have chosen to do this now, I will leave to your assumptions.
With all that being laid out, I now call for public GPWA members to offer their opinions, thoughts and feelings.
Do you think what this private GPWA webmaster did is ethical or NOT?
Cheers
Dave
