Default Flat Earthers or Flat Headers?

    https://www.news.com.au/travel/world...c95590e18dafa3

Never personally been to space, but flown in a few planes over my time, and have seen the curvature of the earth, from up there. Preppers: it's a source of income for some - it makes them very rich.

Not that I've paid much attention to the Flat Earthers, but who's getting rich from this theory?

Would enjoy reading others thoughts and opinions

Flat earthers, anti-vaxxers, paleo dieters, climate change / moon landing / holocaust / science denialists, Trump voters... the list is endless.

I think it was Einstein that said only two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the universe.

There's a good documentary on Netflix now about the flat earthers called Behind the Curve. The cognitive dissonance from these loons is staggering.

I agree with you and personally think that there are many people who pretend to be "Flat Earthers" just so that they can milk their gullible audiences and also to troll people on Facebook and other forums.

Strange that Alex Jones hasn't climbed on the flat-earth band-wagon yet? I'm sure if he decided to support this theory he may even get help from the White House.

I think that youtube has done a good job of suppressing the most absurd conspiracy bullsh*t. The denial of climate change is really quite a toxic one at the moment.

But yeah, seems to be a lot of guys getting rich from the stupidity of others.

Fun fact — one of the biggest flat earth facebook pages once posted boasting of their "global following"

Watched it. It made a good conclusion about these people being creative thinkers who have fallen off the cliff, basically. People who should have had a role in society but their brains have been running on idle so they went astray.

“We don’t believe anything can fall off the edge because a big portion of the flat earth community believes that we’re in a dome, like a snow globe."

This from the founder of the Flat Earthers

    I rest my case.

Ha, if any of these people would like to bet on finding this supposed 'ice wall' surrounding the Earth I would be happy to give them odds and take their money.

    I agree.
I do not think they should have a role in recent society, because what they bring is just a mental cancer, but they used to have a role. Times change.

Yday I talked for one of those guys whole night in tea room. The guy who is into stones/astrology/tarot and stuff like that - so generally he is a schizophrenic who used to be a shaman, if he survived centuries ago. I like all those thing btw. It is a power that opens up the mind, but that should be it. I have no problem to think that the earth is flat or that Jesus came back from death, but of course those things do not have to be taken literally (but they have to be taken seriously... exactly to avoid to take them literally).

In the end he told me about his arachnophobia and I asked him about his mother, because it is a known fact that people with fear of spiders have very weird bossy mothers who act like spiders towards close people. His mother is a teacher, which is something like a diagnose of flat-earther and once he had an incident, which was innocent he said, but after that he was taken by police to asylum.

What other people told me later is that the incident was not that innocent, because there were things like a knife involved.

Why I am telling this is that if we want to know why people come up with stupid theories (and also why they gamble), then we have to look inside: they behave to each other like enemies, even to those ones who they allegedly love. Then those theories or gambling are an escapism from such sad world. Those people have ****** up trust in their heads.
If you talk to God, you are praying; If God talks to you, you have schizophrenia.
