I imagine we would have to fly to somewhere like Paris to get to Malta.. Unless they do flights from Athens.. We can get a flight to most major countries from Singapore or Bangkok so it might not be as hard for us as it would be for someone from the US.

I really hate that we are so far away from everything

The floods were pretty bad and the storm although only lasting a few hours brought a heck of lot of water. About 80mm+ in less than 24 hours.

You can fly to Malta from Australia with Emirates. I think they have two flights a week.

I worked there from Nov-Jan Millenium Year as a holiday rep and the weather was horrendous, the worst for 40+ years I think the papers said. Was based in Silema and have never been so wet and cold.

    Hope the rain stops soon!

Hang on! You alll get told how bad the winters are in Malta and now you want to go there! How does that work.....

(I lived there for six months, and I assure you that the summers can be even worse! 40 degrees and humid as hell!)

That seems to be the case with a lot of europeans...

Melbourne currently has the second largest population of Greeks after Athens. Go figure.

    Hi Steve,

No, you're not that lucky! lol

I'm now in Cyprus, where winter isn't usually that bad. There are direct flights though between the two so if you visit there you can come here afterwards!
