Mass amount of SEO Sales backlinks

Not sure if everyone is seeing this backlink spam but I ma getting hundreds of backlinks that are just adds for me to see in a backlink audit, trying to sell me backlinks. Some are high 60+ DA now seeing hundreds of very low quality ones. Example..

And the above list gave the domains (except the ones that showed a smiley) a link back from the gpwa in plain text. These are normally read as a regular text link even without the href.

Google doesn't really pay attention to these links anyway. In my GSC, there are thousands of spam links with hundreds of anchors such as “black hat SEO Telegram for... website name” and “effective black hat SEO for... website name.”

Perhaps this is just speculation, but I think they realize that this is spam. If that weren't the case, anyone could destroy any website.

You're right, of course, Danny.

The risk is there's some sort of threshold or a combination of factors that you might inadvertently activate, where these obvious 'toxic' links do actually have a negative/toxic impact. For that reason, disavowing does seem a reasonable approach. Basically, you have nothing to lose (other than the time messing with it) as long as you're not disavowing anything actually helpful.

I just checked in my GSC and I can't report these links. I have to create a second GSC account in the URL prefix version, not the entire domain.

So, this is how I understand it. The chance that these links will cause harm is between zero and very low. However, even if it is low, and there is a tool that can reduce the risk from very low to even lower, why not use it? It's basically rational.

And I wonder if the problem might be that we will never enter all the bad links on such a list, and if we don't enter them, Google may consider the ones not entered to be desirable, even though it previously ignored them. And that's a reason not to touch this topic. This statement is not supported by anything, I'm just thinking out loud, could that be the case?

In my case, all bad links are from .xyz domains.

SEM Rush implies the disavow is not needed like it was years ago, with a disclaimer if you see a manual action. Use caution is the big takeaway.

I have often thought if the problem became large from certain domains being the bad actors that google should at some point stop looking at or even indexing the bad actors if they are on enough disavow lists.

I do sincerely apologize, because one of my statements implies google would do the right thing in specific cases. (I will now go stand in front of a mirror and give myself a stern talking to. )

Not understanding why you think you need to create another gsc account to upload the disavow file.

Because a “regular” account for the entire GSC domain does not work with this service.
When setting up GSC, you can choose the type of service. If you choose an account for the entire domain, disavow tools will not work.
In this case, you need to set up a second GSC account (if you don't already have one) with a URL prefix, where these tools will work.

In the domain service, we provide the page without https/ etc., which is why the disavow tool does not work with this version of the GSC account.

Yup Domain Properties are not allowed to have a disavow file. I ran into the same issue a week ago and decided to just switch. The good thing is if you keep initially the domain property the verification will be automatic. Afterwards, you can add a 2nd verification, so if you decide to delete the domain property, the new one doesn't get unverified.

As for the links, if only one of us had em, maybe it was something to worry about but since all sites have em, shouldn't Google just see that? They've been talking about removing that disavow tool for years, might as well just do it. Until it's still there people would be still talking about it and sell services for it.

People come up on Linkedin with sample size of freaking 1 and claim yes negative seo works, because site xyz was hit, we submit a disavow file and it got fixed. Confirmation bias at its finest, considering that site could have easily recovered on its own, could have been an algo thing yada yada. And then more "seos" get in the discussion, again with sample size of 1 confirming they saw the same.

Bottom line, disavow them sure, but don't spend too much time on this. If research was achievable through sample size of 1 or 10, we wouldn't need clinical trials and a/b testings for anything in any field

P.S Actually deleting the domain property did not remove the association via domain in the verification section of the new property. However all of the data would be gone, so keep that in mind.

What I'm seeing is thousands of hacked sites with telegram redirects even the title mentions telegram and it's flooded all the SEO tools which makes analysing more tricky this is on mass scale. it's been a while since I've seen anythign so brazen.
