Great article. In this day and age, I especially agree with the importance of a site having a responsive design, and social media integration.

Oh for sure! I weren't even aware that my main website had way over 50% mobile visitors which couldn't see my main ads on the sidebar, let alone click it on the phone. Converted it to responsive and immediately saw a huge increase in conversions.

Great article. Thanks for sharing. Responsive design is definitely the way to go. I just updated my site and it's so much better not having to update two separate versions of the same site.

Very good article, thanks for posting! The Compression issues and Page Caching are things I have yet to dive into, does anybody know if Wordpress has plugins to address these issues?

Will check this out, I've done SEO for a long time now and had pretty good success, mainly looking to working with search engines over a long term period and not looking for quick gains or anything black hat. This approach for me has made me immune to pretty much all algorithm updates. It's a simple phrase of quality over quantity, most people find out the hard way. It's also looking at future trends such as Social Media too, links are king but not forever, Google has already created versions of the SERPS without links being a factor.

One of the main keys I've picked up on is user behavior, time on site, bounce rate and if a user goes back to Google is important factors.
