Default Google Analytics & Webmaster Tools

    Hi,

I have a new website but I dont know if it is a good idea to install Google Analytics and the Webmaster Tools. I had read that giving to much info to google about your site can make it rank slower. Is that really true? Do you guys use the Analytics & Webmaster Tools and have good results on the search engines?

    Thanks for your help!

    My website is http://nodepositbonuses777.co.uk/

    Slower or lower?

I'd say giving the info to Google can make your site rank faster, but possibly also lower.

For my main websites with good content, regular updates, no "gray hat" tactics etc.

As long as you don't do dangerous things I don't think it will have a negative impact, I even think it will be positive. Like RacingJim already said it will probably make you rank faster.

Well what exactly do you plan to do. These tools are pretty giving you details about your user experience. I do not know if Google uses them for a ranking factor, but if it tells you that your users are having a bad experience, and Google ranks you lower for that, wouldn't you wanna just fix that, and improve your website, rather than remove those tools and hide?

While perhaps no tool would give you 'all of the details' and those secure https search strings do not show up (the keywords don't show up), there' still much to look at. I personally remember finding a post that I had written back in 2011, with 0 links in it, but ranking pretty well. If it wasn't for Analyitics, I might have never found out about it.

So yah to sum it up, have them on your website, there's no point of hiding anything. They provide constructive criticism in terms of stats, and you can only benefit from it, if your long term goals is to make this a business.

You don't get caught by Google Webmaster Tools. You get caught by the Google algorithms or a manual action. Google Webmaster Tools is only a tool that notifies you if you are caught by a manual action.
If you don't use Google Webmaster Tools you get the same penalty but you don't get a notification.

And of course you get extra information like crawl statistics, indexing, search words, ...

To use Google Webmaster Tools you don't have to add any code to your website so they won't get any more information than if you wouldn't use GWT. The only extra thing they know is the owner of the website.

This is impossible or too much hard to work without Google Analytics and Google Webmaster. Without Google Webmaster tools how you can find out that your site is in right direction or wrong. Which tool you are using for website sitemap submission and know about these terms indexing, organic traffic with proper keyword, any type of server issue, 404 pages etc....

there is nothing wrong to add your site in wmt. You can index your site much faster you have detailed analysis about your website you can see all the external links and much more. I would definitely suggest to use it.

I agree, by not using GA and webmaster tools you are depriving yourself of some really powerful tools and, as mentioned previously, you get caught by the Google algorithms or manual actions. If being penalised is what you're worried about, then having GWT is highly advised because in the event of a penallty most people turn to GWT for confirmation (if provided).

Install Google Analytics and the Webmaster Tools on the site and web pages that you want to monitor via google.

If there are pages that you don't want google to see or monitor, simply don't install GA or GWT on them, but instead, add a NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW on those pages.

Also, if you have a network of sites, I wouldn't add more than 1 or 2 sites per google account.

So you create multiple Google accounts? Do you switch IP's, browser clean up... everytime before you switch from account? I think Google has a system to link accounts to the same person. This is what I think, there is no proof of this. But as they have so much data about us this seems something that they would also monitor.

    Hi,
It's more likely to rank better if you have GA o GWT then if you don't because G will have more data (time on site, page view per visit etc) to analyze. At least having them will not harm you
So go get them and use them

I only use GWT and GA on 2 sites only, and these 2 sites are on different GWT & GA accounts. But google seems to have figured out most of my network anyway

Yes, they have so much data

I even heard people say that Google uses Chrome browser data to find out which websites someone owns.
