The Google Dance?

For 6 days Organic traffic seems to be capped to half of what it previously was.. nearly every day the exact same number of visitors, I'm certain it's not a penalty "I have had one previously" and I still rank for my keywords until I hit a certain amount of visitors, one thing I noticed is the amount of index searched results keeps bouncing in major numbers,. sometimes every hour? I have had Dances before but usually for 48 hours... Has anybody experienced longer than 7 days?

I experience high rankings for Google Plus page of my Best Games Directory.
It seems that Google Plus page as a high ranking signal for my site.
However, I also receive a lot of traffic from Bing and Yahoo, as well from Chinese Baidu and Russian Yandex search engines.

I am seeing results jump all over the place, and Indexing change between 10 and 100%, this happened before but lasted 3 days perhaps.. this time its almost a week, I still rank for title keywords but long tail is what seems to be jumping around

I think it's just my site.. what I am seeing is results in different google centers stuck at 51,000 max when usually it's 60k, then it jumps to 9800 then to 9180 then to 51,000 then to 50,000 ... Usually this is what happens before I get a large ranking boost.. only this time it's been jumping for 6 days

Some times traffic is down then a large burst comes in with 30 visitors per minute all organic for around 30 minutes.. then dies down for an hour or two.. Weird..

Fwiw I'm noticing something similar to what that poster is suggesting about weekend vs through the week traffic. On the whole though traffic if stable but changing if that makes sense.

I've done a lot of my own SEO over the years and the google dance is just something I got used to. typicly it would happen when doing new link building campaigns but then calms down after a while.

Well, it just clicked that this might be related. WMT had stopped showing us new data since Feb 9th. Today all the missing data through the 15th came in one fell swoop.

Now, everything looks standard/normal ranges, but it may be worth it for some of you to check your WMT data and see if there are any changes in the reporting there.

Seems like a never-ending dance nowadays, we were in position 1 on a key term when I went to bed last night, position 3 right now. I expect that will vary between 4 & 1 before the end of the day.

I forget which conference it was, however one of the google speakers described the SERPs as like water sloshing around in a bucket - rather than being level, one side is high and the other low and it's constantly moving. Then they go and give it a shake every now and then. Might take some imagination to make that analogy work in your mind but I get where they're coming form.

Yeah, I have noticed the same thing. There are some traffic changes within this period. Actually, I see such dances from time to time.... Dont worry=) and wait 2 weeks... I noticed that these dances may take the whole month.

My stats were also delayed.. Today traffic looks normal again, for almost a week daytime traffic was low.. today it's back where it was will see how it runs, BTW I had been building BL from High authority pages but usually it dances for 2 days.. first time its been a week
