Google SERP Fluctuation - Anyone else seeing this today?

Hi,

5 of my major "casino" phrases have dropped dramatically from page 1 on Google today.
Was checking today as they'd each gained spots but within a matter of hours, one such phrase "casino gambling" had been de-ranked to page 4.

Possibly fluctuation one sees with a "Google Dance" scenario. Of course not going to start freaking out just yet.

Anyone else seeing strange ranking behaviour?

Aussie Dave I have been seeing some strange results as well, things I can't put my finger on!

Over the last 2 weeks we have been down twice for a period of about an hour due to scheduled maintenance, when this happens a page is thrown up with an image letting users know we will be back very soon.

Strange thing is when this scheduled maintenance page is put up we suddenly move onto page 1 for some very competetive keywords, when the normal optimised site comes back we drop down.

Why oh why is Google loving our scheduled maintenance page? It is one image and nothing else!!

This isn't exactly the problem that you are describing but it is an example of Google break dancing recently!

Well there has been a new google update regarding content farm. That's why a lot of casino sites ranked lower than their usual rankings.

Well, last week and, I think, this week will be a ranking shake for us. We've been experiencing a coaster ride with our rankings going up and down in the pile of links in SERPs. I truly believe that Google had the content farm update active, what I would wish then is its stoppage the soonest. We're already dizzy with the ranking shake.

Understandable if a site is operating as a low quality "content farm"...However the in question is 100% original content, well over 300+ pages. I see gonegambling.com got hit too. That site was a couple of spots below me. Now were both on page 3 or 4...

Very strange indeed.

gonegambling.com is on the first page of my Google results for "casino gambling"...

That fluctuation process also hits me. Before, my site is on the first page but now i found my site located at the 6th page of Google. I have to do a lot of work now for me to be able to get back on the first page. BTW, I tried to locate gonegambling.com and found it on the 16th place at the First page of Google.

Seen a huge drop of around 50 places in the rankings for my primary poker site. Thought it might have something to do with exact match domains, but similar sites haven't dropped in the same way (fingers crossed they won't!). As with Dave, the site is around 300 pages of original content and I like to think it's regarded as a quality site.

This is the first time this has happened to me. How long does this Google Dance last for? Just need to figure out at what point I need to start getting anxious about this.

In the meantime, is there anything I can do about this? Or do I just need to be patient and keep adding unique content as I always did?
