    Default Belgium broadens clampdown on online gaming sites

    Belgium appears set to broaden its clampdown on online gambling after the Belgian Gaming Commission (BGC) requested that sites offering free gaming apps for mobile devices should be included in a proposed social gaming operator blacklist.

    So are you guys saying that Google thinks Christiaan is a "Sexy Belgium Casino Affiliate", or is it just wishful thinking on your part?

    Maybe I should use that as a keyword for my SEO. It seems easy to rank for. Although I don't think anyone will ever search for that term, except the people that read this topic...

    What sports books are available to Belgium currently?

    I am looking to promote anyone but Bwin and Unibet!

    I have Betvictor, Winner, Ladbrokes?

    Ladbrokes is Legal. Betvictor and Winner are blacklisted, we can't visit their websites.

    Other legal sites are BetFirst (LivePartners/NetBet) and the local brands Golden Palace and Circus.
    There are others but those don't have an affiliate program.

    But I advice you to stay away from the Belgian market (more competition for me ).

    They don't have a Belgian License. Only the brands with a Belgian License are legal.
    Brands that have no Belgian license but accept Belgian players will be blacklisted and can get sued. There are so many gambling websites and not all of them are blacklisted. But they keep adding sites to the blacklist. The Internet Providers in Belgium have to block all the websites on the blacklist. Many big brands are already on the blacklist (William Hill, 888, Winner, ...).

    To get a Belgian license you need a physical gambling venue in Belgium, the servers have to be in Belgium, you need a .be domain, have to pay taxes, follow many rules, etc. It is hard and expensive to get one. Most big online brands don't have physical casino's or betting offices in Belgium so they made agreements with existing casino's to work together.

    Bwin was popular in Belgium before they introduced this online gambling law 2-3 years ago. They didn't agree that they had to follow the new law and sued the Belgian gouvernement. But they lost their case. Now they did everything they needed to do for a license and got their Belgian license.

    Belgian people who play on websites that don't have a license can also get a fine and even get jail time. So far I don't think they ever sued a player. They only target the illegal websites for now.

    The brands you are asking about are all illegal:
    Sky -> still available
    Betdaq -> I can visit the website but Betdaq redirects me to a page that shows me a message that their services are illegal in my jurisdiction. I can't visit any other page.
    WBX -> still available
    Smarkets -> still available

    I guess Tipico could be added to list of bookies on the white list, they certainly have a shop next to Laddies in the middle of Brussels!

    All this regulation will kill the game unless you have a niche market, still, Belgium is interesting has Bookmakers do not pass on any tax unlike in Germany (5%) , in Spain , they want personal tax if you win over 8000 in any given tax year----------its all getting very controlled.

    Last time I checked (few months ago), the affiliate program for Tipico in Belgium was not ready yet.

    Yes they are both licensed. They are both big in Belgium. If you look at the international brands, yes they are the biggest 2 in sportsbetting. An other big brand is Napoleon Games. That is a Belgian brand and they don't want to work with affiliates.
