    Question Fetch as Google

So, my content writer sent me the previews for the remaining Copa America games. A few hours later, I went to check as I was expecting to be on the first page. Nothing. In fact I had a different URL on page 2. Decided to check back in the morning ... nothing.

Then went to WMT, fetched both pages as Google and indexed them manually and within the hour they are both now where they should be. Why Google. Why do you make me do manual labor?

I guess the purpose of this post is to warn anyone that has a fast expiration content that needs to be indexed ASAP, to check up on the results and do it manually if Google is being lazy, or you would be missing out.

It's also a bit of a rant, cause if I was producing 50 pages a day, can't imagine the hassle to check each and all.

I actually always do it manually if it needs to be indexed quick.

The fastest I got was about 1-2 min, and on the first page

So, do you recommend index manually all new articles, posts or pages after publishing them ?

Only if you need the content indexed immediately.

There's a 500 URL monthly limit, by the way.

I would do it if it is some promotion or something that has to go out fast, you have a limit of 500 urls per month.

I have noticed sometimes when there is a algo update coming things get messed up, sometimes front page will be full of outdated articles.. only the news section being updated.. but it always works out in the end

I always use the Fetch as Google tool every time I add a new page. Otherwise, who knows how long it can take for the page to be indexed.

I think if you refresh web page content, then you can use fetch as webmaster tools otherwise........

Khmm, it depends really from the website. Some websites Google visits much more often if he sees that you update your content daily or for example if you have twitter connected and autoposting is enabled.

It's all connected to twitter though. That's why it surprised me. I published 2-3 posts in a spawn of 40 minutes, the last 2 got indexed, while the first one, not at all, until i fetched it myself.

Even now, 9d later, i keep on forgetting from time to time, to do it manually.

I always like to do manually myself without delaying any moment.

I wasn’t even aware that I could push the indexing, just tried with a new post and it didn't took many minutes before I was on page one... many thanks for enlightening me
