Lightbulb GPWA Forum Software Upgrade Plans

Just a quick note to let folks know that we have some software upgrades in the works.

This morning around 7am EST we migrated to vBulletin version 4.1.3.

Tomorrow morning around the same time we plan to upgrade to vbSEO version 3.6.0.

And, although we do not yet have a specific day scheduled, we also plan to soon upgrade from vBulletin version 4.1.3 to vBulletin 4.1.4.

That last upgrade will make available a newer and better editor for folks to use.

The new editor is pretty cool. Just installed a fresh version of 4.1.4 so far so good.

I guess this thread is as good as any others to post issues since upgrade....

The mark forums as read is not working.

The pm notification does not reset back to zero after reading all new pm's

    Rick,

Thanks for letting us know about those issues. I have reported them to the development team and copied Anthony on the internal request so he can follow-up with you.

Haven't seen too many other things that need reported and I have done edits, bannings, thread moves and thread edits.....so far so good.....

It seems like every major upgrade we have done the mark forums read function goes wacky....

I guess I sdhould test that on other browsers too since I now realized I likely only have used IE8 on Vista since upgrade...

I've struck a most frustrating bug...

Using the quick reply sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't I received a message that my post is too short (5 characters or something). I think we can agree I'm not one for short posts

Hitting that back button should preserve the message but it doesn't, text has gone.

Before hitting the post button, I've been taking a copy however that's a bit of miss and hit because most times I'm so enthralled in what I'm posting I forget to take a copy. And 9 times out of 10 that's when this bug strikes - it's most frustrating.

    Cheers

I actually just saw that bug a few mins ago so I can second that one.

I also have 2 notifications that won't go away.

I checked, no pm's no subscribed threads with new posts...nothing and they won't go away....

Could you send me a screenshot of this issue? What I'm interested in seeing is whether or not it says "notifications" or "private messages"?
    Thank you.

    It says notifications.

And today when I arrived, I had 3 new pm's so the notifications said 5.

After reading one it said 4.

After reading ALL new pm's it says 2.

We believe the search issue that happened when performing searches from pages other than forum pages has been corrected. The search issue had resulted in the following error that was reported earlier in this thread.

Your submission could not be processed because a security token was invalid.

Please let us know if you receive this error in the future.

I am seeing some real issues today on IE8.

This thread is a good example and in fact I couldn't get past the post #5 as the page ended before Michaels sig, but FF allowed me to see the entire thread and post this message....

I tried closing and re-opening the browser but it didn't help in this particular thread.

I am not sure if the other issues have been fixed, but the mark forums read is still not working due to the security token bug....

Is there any way we could possibly have the "mark forums read" function fixed?

Yea, the exact same thing is happening to me trying to read this thread in IE but in FF it works fine. I've closed and re-opened IE and also re-started the computer and everything else that I could think of to fix this issue but it did not work.

In the thread I linked up above I can only see 3 posts.
