    Default The GPWA server

Just thought I'd point out, last couple of weeks I've found the site and forum either quite slow to respond or not responding at all a couple of times so I couldn't get on the site.

Just wondering maybe you have some server issues or something as it used to perform a lot faster than it does currently.

Good to know I wasn't the only one having problems with loading the site. Was thinking it was something on my side

And ... your sites are never slow?

I do experience issues with the forum speed at times, but have had none today.

There are experiences in different geographic areas around the world all the time lately due mostly in part to targeted attacks at certain isp's and providers.

For the past few days whenever I have come into the office in the morning and opened the forum, clicked new posts, it tells me there is nothing in my search results. Almost like someone has been logged into my account, searching the forums and read everything already, or that everything has already been marked as read before I get there.

Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this. I'm using Chrome. I wonder if it's a session issue. Never happened when I was using firefox.

I use Chrome for affiliate forum browsing - and new posts is working fine for me here.

I'd try logging off and back on to see if that sorts it out - or if you really think you've been hacked then change the password.
Given the recent fuss over the heartbleed bug / virus ... anything is possible.

I think you misunderstood the purpose of the topic I don't see as nitpicking, just informing the admins that something has felt off recently so that they can check it out if everything's all right.

    "recently"

And the admins are .... sleeping? (I don't hope so ) ... never load their own sites (+ forum)?

"Yes George, I did it already, and tomorrow all is working well and you can watch me mowing my lawn the right way again. Thanks again for your inimitable patience and great foresight."

If my site was slow and inconsistent I'd be onto it, I test my sites every day and have lots of server monitoring to take note of any blips in performance, end of the day I'm pointing it out to help them - several times recently I've gone to go on the site and it's either took a long time to load or timed out without loading. If it were my site I'd want someone to tell me that.

    That's wonderful. So hard-working.

I personally very soon would come up with paranoia, but don't listen to my words, because I am only an fanciless, hunchbacked old man who is blind for ambitious ways to invest my precious lifetime.

As long as I am able to shake parts of my leached body and can hear the 14 different voices in my tortured mind, everything will be held together by the rhythm of a dancing bee.

Anyone experiencing speed issues, it never hurts to check your dns.

By that I mean the dns that you use at home, so that could mean the dns that your isp chooses to use or the dns your web SERVER uses to answer queries.

I have stopped using Google's dns servers almost everywhere. They get the queries WRONG so much of the time (especially certain countries and extensions), it takes extra time to get an answer. I have also found recursive lookups on servers running anycast may be behind slowdowns at times also.
