(LONDON, United Kingdom June 1, 2011) – Online gaming brand GR88.com (pronounced ‘Great Eight.com’) is excited to announce 23 year old Canadian Justin Darling as the winner of the GR88 University Poker Championship. Darling, a 3rd year student at Brock University in St. Catherines ON, Canada has won his tuition, as well as a trip to LA to Party with Hope Dworaczyk, the 2010 Playboy Playmate of the year, as well as a celebrity on the most recent Celebrity Apprentice which aired in March, 2011.

Darling first learned to play poker at 18 years old with a group of buddies; they started out playing small stakes after school and on weekends. This early interest in the game led him to move online, and hone his skills. 5 years later he is beating out University students from around the world for the top prize.

In September, 2010 GR88 announced a new and innovative way for students to pay for their education… playing poker for free. The GR88 University Poker Championship, allowed students around the world to compete each week in free online poker tournaments. Each week the winner received a ticket to the finale, which recently ran, with Darling taking the top prize.
