Default Grand National - Who's withdrawing welcome bonuses?

As most know the Grand National is coming up and helpfully some bookies decide to withdraw their free bet welcome bonuses, meaning a lot of editing of our sites. which is even more helpful this year with me being being away.

So to get ahead of this which bookmakers are withdrawing their free bets around the Grand National?

William Hill have already emailed they are withdrawing theirs on the Saturday so any other programs wishing to chime in would be helpful I reckon, not only to me as well but others as well

    Good shout mate.

Activewins sent this in an email, which I'm guessing means they're reducing it just for the day and then back to normal afterwards:

With the Grand National just around the corner, Betfred are changing their welcome bonus to Bet £5 Get £5. This will only be live on Saturday 11th April – which is the official start of the Grand National.

Yeah Betfred are reducing it down, but at least we've still got something to push over the national!

Yep, I expect it will be a Friday morning email 'just to let you know our new account offer was paused at 9am this morning' as you spend the next few hours amending copy all over the place...

Expecting 365 to remove any new sign ups for the Saturday as they did last year.

    William Hill:

    1. On Grand National Day, 11th of April 2015, we will not be paying any CPAs on UK sports customers. It's done automatically by us, and CPA will be triggered again after the Grand National.
    2. Revenue share deals remain untouched.
    3. NO sports betting bonuses (for customers) will be available to UK customers on Grand National Day.
That means you will have to update your content to either not show our bonus in the UK, or mention that the bonus is not available on Grand National Day.
      The banner will change automatically.

Bet365 have a history of completely blocking signups on Grand National day, never mind the bonus. I think last time it was just UK/Ireland that they blocked.

One year a while back I didn't even get notified they were going to do this at all, so had set up some ads to run with them in main position for the promo page, came home and realised their site was down all day - a few hundred quid wasted This year I'm not even bothering with them, don't want to risk having to frantically change loads of pages at lunchtime on GN day!

Got a mate that's wondering if anyone's received confirmation if Bet365 are going completely dark again? Last time we had an error page all day in the UK & Ireland and one year there was a worldwide error page up until 6pm after the last race apparently.

As far as I've heard, I think Coral are all good to go for the free bet.

i spoke with one of the affiliate managers at bet365 and he advised that they will probably not tag players on Saturday like previous years.

Just got a call from Bet365 and they are blocking signups 10am till 4pm on the day. Dunno why they arnt sending an email to confirm, perhaps it only applies to certain affiliates.

Missed a call from 365 today, so that must have been what it was about. Shame that as I got loads of signups last year for them on GN day, but actually yeh looking back based on the clicks I should have got loads more than I got, so I guess maybe they did untag players. Very naughty that as they didn't mention it at all to me.

Last year players attempting to join were met with the message that they could not sign-up until after a certain time, by memory it was 5pm. I checked it on the day. Any players you referred would have been the ones that joined between midnight and 10am.

Ah that's really disappointing cos I got a good amount up to the 10am time and click data would suggest I would have got loads more signups. Shame they didn't let me know as I wasted a lot of exposure on them on one of my sites.

Agree with Jim. I wasted a decent amount on PPC, gave them top exposure on a few sites, and didn't get told a thing about them shutting down for the day although apparently it was decided BEFORE the event and a few select people HAD been told. It was another affiliate that let me know what had occured (unfortunately, after the national ended).

I mentioned it to bet365 and got a message with the basic conclusion of "sorry, but tough luck!" followed by some rubbish like "also please tell me your plans for promoting Wimbledon for us!" or whatever the next big event was, which just wound me up so much.

What's the logic in the bookmakers doing this?

They think the players are once a year punters with little or no value once the Grand National has been run.

Paddy Power are also with drawing their offer.

Its understandable though the customers dont continue to bet they just create the account and never bet again.

But that doesn't help an affiliate that has to change potentially hundreds of pages for the sake of one day (or 6 hours with some) and then back again.
