The Hellenic Gaming Commission announced that the process for online gaming license applications from shareholder, executives, manufacturers, suppliers and certification organizations is now available online.

There are two available licenses to apply for online games of chance and sports betting. In January, the Greek Ministry of Finance completed its gambling regulations for the online industry after being approved by the parliament in October last year.

A sports betting license will cost €3 million and any other online games license will be €2 million with both having to pay 35% tax on their gross gaming revenue. Play is restricted to those aged 21 and above. The regulations also impose strict conditions for online casino, including a €2 maximum slot stake, with prizes capped at €5,000, and a €50,000 limit for jackpot games.
