I',m Back~

Hi~~~

I just came home today from my two month hospital stay and i am feeling better than ever~~

THe doctors had originally said i would never come off a ventilator and would be in a special care unit for life, but they just didn't understand who they were dealing with! I was sent to a special care hospital and here it is three weeks later and the ventilator is gone, the feeding tube in my stomach is done, my trach is gone and my lungs are better than they have been in three years~ and it took only three weeks to come home~. I feel blessed and full of gratitude to the entire staff at the care unit and owe them my life....but they said i was a fighter and new they would get me better. I was told about the post here at GPWA andwas so touched and humbled you all made me cry and feel very loved. Thank you.

THe worst part about all this was the 5 weeks of not eating or talking......it was torture~~~~~....when i could finally talk again the doctors could not shut me up!!...it was a nightmare for them....hhahahahaha....

So i am so glad to be back and have a lot of catching up to do~

When I heard about you not being able to talk I knew that alone had to be about the worst thing you had to go through....and Gary actually had a few days of peace....

LOL

Honestly though, we are sooooo gald you are doing better.....

Welcome Back Pat! Reading your post here now was probably the happiest post I've read in a long time. I'm so happy you're feeling better and not on the ventilator either. I guess all those prayers were answered.

Now what did I do with my gas mask? lol

I've been reading about your story for a long time, and I'm so glad to hear everything is finally okay

You sound like a really strong person, and that's what helped you to recover from your awful ordeal. Glad to hear you are feeling better, I can't imagine how tough things must have been, especially spending two months in hospital. I was in hospital for 5 days once, and I started complaining on the second day lol Welcome back and hope you are having a lovely weekend

Its going to be a wonderful day! My kittys were so happy to see me and my dog just about put me back in the hospital knocking me over the big lug!!

I'm sure the pets missed ya! I remember when hubby had surgery I was allowed to bring the furkid up to his room and sleep overnight. That helped him AND me a lot. Can't believe they allowed it, but was thrilled.
