Default How many players can you refer? Can you answer that question easily to a new program

    Hi Everyone,

I have asked this question to poker affiliates and would like to hear your opinions here.

    Cheers,

It would be hard for a reasonable person to tell. It all depends on how the program performs, traffic, and how your traffic responds to the program.
I would give an approximation based on how much you are sending other programs.

If you send dozens/hundreds of players a month to poker rooms, it's not too hard to come up with an estimate. When i was doing a lot of poker business (prior to 2006), i knew difference between conversions for Partypoker vs Pacific vs Prima vs other networks. I knew that i needed about 5 times the traffic to get single player for a secondary network, vs Party Poker.

    In general, conversions are affected
by how the players get to your site, did they search on "Party Poker" or "Poker Rules" - "Party Poker" is more likely to convert
How many players on online, it's easier to covert in a room with 10,000s of players online, vs just a few hundred
What happens when the players get to the room

the first 2 items are something the affiliate can control/know, but the last item: how the room deals with our traffic, is the most important aspect in converting a player who is ready to play.

It also depends on how many properties you promote. If you are set up in a way where you can focus on one property, you will send a lot more players to that property quickly. If there is a lot of competition on your site, you can still estimate how many will eventually play there, but the time frame is impossible to pinpoint. Plus all the above mentioned factors come into play.

Since Grand Prive, I am even more leery of sending too many players to any one program, so there is that. A self imposed limit so I am sure to survive such shenanigans.

That's a good answer. Answering this question will help the affiliate manager in working out a special non-standard deal for the new affiliate. The advertised deals are for everyone, but if you can deliver some extra value, you will definitely get a special deal. The extra value is mostly in volumes (number of new depositing players a month), but if you know for a fact that your traffic generates high rollers, it is also worth mentioning.
    Cheers!
