    The way I read it:

    Webmaster ordered a site design.
Freelance offers designs from free site, for fee.
    Webmaster removes footer links.
Freelancer does small changes to template for fee.

    ______________________________________

The freelancer has no right to sell the link removal, and in fact I see this as the first red flag.

But that bothers me. I run the site poker-themes.com. I spent a lot of money buying themes for it when it was new. But everyone just takes them and removes the footer links and uses them.

I am surprised to see that this community that prides themselves on protecting copyrights found no problems to this statement. Removing the footer links, in my mind, is theft.
Actually, the template was STOLEN from casinolaunchpad by the freelancer and presented to me as free from gamblingtemplates.net

    No

    1. Webmaster orders new design.
    2. Freelancer steals the design and presents it as free theme from the site.
    3. Webmaster accepts the design.
    4. The owner of the theme posts a complaint at GPWA

Webmaster removes footer links. <---- But that still happened, according to you.

I am going to drop this. I am not intending for this to be personal against you SlotMonster.

I think you handled the situation very well when it came to light.

Please reread my post from previous page.

I also was thinking about that. The only thing came to my mind is that a$$hole added them before showing them to me just to make theme look more realistic. I recall he said it's up to me to leave them or not. Unfortunately, I didn't look through that website closely and didn't see the statement about I have to keep those links

I would love to see Mr C. or Anthony reward this thread and the people responsible for it with a "humanitarian" award for integrity, class, professionalism and for just plain acting like civilized adults, which in the affiliate world is a necessity. We don't see much of this type of respect shown between business people and it should be highlighted somewhere on the forum as a "showcase" in Professional and Class Acts to follow".

I agree. Realistically, we can all be duped by a freelancer. It's happened to me before as well. It's making sure that the issue is resolved and prevention of having it happen in the future.

I now know how it feels to have something stolen that you have worked so hard creating, and it doesn't feel good. When this happens, too many times we react out of our emotions, which just makes matters worse. I have to applaud both parties for settling this delicate matter in such a mature manner. We can all learn a lesson from you two!

As a note to anyone creating templates it is best not to copy templates from other sites even if it is redesigned. Search engines like google will see identical code structures and treat these as less original and possibly farm content. Free templates are very good for getting a site off for free however this is the expense.

What a pain in the butt. I have to admit its happened to me before with
    duplicate content
    logo
    css themes
    wordpress templates.

You go about doing it the right way, but it ends up being more problematic when you get an unreliable freelancer. Saying that - I'm a bit more diligent these days, I do mockup's and detail out what I want.

to Ih8: not everybody found it okay to be removing the links. I had already copied that statement and was just finishing reading the thread before posting that was not a good thing.

    so for what its worth:

there were few backlinks in the footer which I removed.
    that's what I had copied.

Great this is all worked out.
Almost Here! How would you like to be able to get not just one sign up from your player, or even a couple, but every single casino they join from here on? I've a plan that can make that happen and it will likely also tell you every time the player is active within the casino.
