The sixth edition of the UK Gambling Industry Code for Socially Responsible Advertising comes into effect this week on Thursday, 1 October 2020. Over the past week affiliates have discussed notices they have received from affiliate programs regarding the new edition in the following thread: Socially Responsible Advertising - UK Affiliate ads marked ‘#ad'.

Paragraph 62 of the new edition is particularly draconian. It reads as follows: "Compliance with the above is expected to be managed by way of a contractual obligation to comply with a Code of Conduct for the affiliate party. Operators are expected to terminate relationships with affiliates who cannot/do not comply, preferably on a one strike and you’re out rule."
