    Well, there are two approaches.

There's the 'blackhat' approach, where you can purchase links that do not have the 'nofollow' tag attached. There are many, many sites that WILL sell you links, but there's a couple of drawbacks and they are -

    1) It's risky, if you're completely dependant on traffic from Google (which, seems to be where majority of the quality traffic is), then you are potentially playing with fire if you end up buying too many links that look 'suspicious'.

Then again, there's the argument that Google can't prove you paid for that particular link. But I won't dive into that hole today . If you want easy links, you can buy them, but it is as I said, potentially 'risky'.

    2) If you're a new affiliate site, you may not have a budget to spend any money on purchasing links anyway in which case..

You could do things the way I do them, and firstly, build up a quality site, with quality content, pay attention to the keywords your traffic is coming from, what the bounce rate is and how long they stay on the site, which pages they visit most etc. Ideally, you want people to be able to find what they're looking for, with little hassle. You don't want your users to have a bad experience.

Signup to several social bookmarking sites, create a Facebook page and a twitter account. Submit your news items to these and when you believe you've created a quality site, then look for other quality sites to engage in link exchanges with.

For me, its a quality over quantity thing, but many people have different opinions and in the gambling industry, it's particularly difficult to secure quality links when you're just starting out, so you need to use what is already available to you, which as I said, is social bookmarking (StumbleUpon.com etc) for links and social media (Facebook, Twitter) for exposure. I think it's also important to note though, that this traffic, from experience, is terrible for conversion, but it is as stated - great for exposure.

Then there's also the potential opportunity of guest posts, but I don't think they're too popular in the gambling niche. There are some sites that will let you write a blog post, or publish a news article on their site and allow you link back to your own site, but again, I havent come across many people who do this in the gambling niche.

Also, make sure you're contact us page is easy to find as many link exchange webmasters will use this page to contact you regarding link exchanges.

That's all I can think of for now, hope this helps. Good luck!

It is not exactly blackhat to purchase links, however it can be risky if purchased from the wrong places or if such things as purchasing too many, or purchasing too many in too short a period of time....

The same can be said about exchanges....acquiring too many links in a short period of time, or getting them from low quality sites or sites known as "bad neighborhoods" etc...

There are litterally hundreds of posts here that cover links and general seo tips so keep reading.....

    Hi grem,

The first thing you need to do is put some content on your site. At this point it's just one page with no affiliate links. Once you get 20 - 30 pages of decent content uploaded, then think about links - right now you need to concentrate on quality content and signing up with some affiliate programs.

This is true. Get yourself busy creating quality contents for people to discover and bookmark or sharing to their friends and family through word-of-mouth. They might have blogs to put your links as one of the "must-see" sites.
